3-STEP HOMEMADE JUNIPER BERRY INFUSED GIN
A delicious Juniper Berry Infused Gin that's ready to consume in a matter of days.

Steps:
- Sterilize a 12-ounce or larger mason jar. Pour ½ of a 750 ml bottle of vodka into the jar.
- Add juniper berries, cardamom pods, coriander seeds, dehydrated orange slice, lemon peel, or both. Stir dried lavender, anise seeds, marigold flower, and star anise into the jar.
- Seal and shake the bottle, then store it on the counter for 48 hours. When it's time, strain the alcohol through a soup bag into another bottle or jar.

DIY GIN RECIPE
When it comes down to it, gin is basically a neutral spirit flavored with juniper berries and a bunch of other stuff. So while it might seem like putting a bunch of berries and herbs in vodka couldn't possibly result in a drinkable gin, you definitely can make a gin just as complex and delicious as what you'll find at the liquor store.

Steps:
- Combine the vodka and juniper berries in a sealable glass jar and steep for 12 hours.
- Add coriander, chamomile, lavender, cardamom, bay leaf, allspice, and grapefruit peel. Seal jar and shake, then let steep for an additional 36 hours.
- Strain out solids through a strainer lined with cheesecloth, then strain through cheese cloth again into desired bottle. Store at room temperature for up to one year.

BLACKBERRY GIN

Steps:
- Tip the blackberries and sugar into a 1.5-litre sterilised jar. Pour over the gin, seal the jar and swirl around to dissolve the sugar. Store in a cool, dark place and turn the jar once a day for the first week.
- After two-three weeks, strain the gin through a sieve. Pour the gin into bottles, and label. The gin will keep its colour for a few months and will be drinkable for up to a year. Use the infused blackberries in a cocktail like a bramble, or in a trifle.
