- Half-sheet cakes. Add Costco’s iconic half-sheet cakes to the growing list of things COVID-19 has canceled this year. The warehouse chain shelved these sweet slabs in the spring.
- Polish dogs. It came as a shock to us all. To make room for more healthy items on its food court menu, Costco got rid of its Polish dogs in 2018. The decision outraged loyal customers, who took to Twitter to protest under the hashtag #SaveThePolishDog.
- Kirkland Signature Light Beer. For better or for worse, Costco stopped production of its Kirkland Signature Light Beer in 2018. The 48-packs sold for $22 — less than 50 cents per can.
- All American Chocolate Cake. This glorious mountain of rich, chocolatey goodness was abruptly abandoned by Costco without explanation, leaving customers confused and distraught.
- Hand-dipped ice cream bars. Costco got rid of this delectable dessert way back in 2013, but seasoned shoppers remember it well. The vanilla ice cream bar, dipped in chocolate and encrusted in toasted almonds, sold for only $1.50 at the food court.
- Roundup. A Change.org petition with over 85,000 signatures may have led Costco to drop this Mosanto-owned weed-killer from store shelves. Founder of Moms Across America, Zen Honeycutt, created a petition calling for the retailer to drop Roundup, following billion dollar lawsuits that claimed the herbicide caused cancer.
- BBQ beef brisket sandwich. Although this food court favorite was only available at select Costco locations, fans grieved when the retailer swept grease aside to make room for healthier meals.
- Chocolate frozen yogurt. Costco’s chocolate frozen yogurt was another item that didn’t make the cut when the warehouse was revamping the food court menu, though you can still get vanilla.
- Kirkland Signature Turkey Burgers. The same year that Costco cleared many fattening items from its food court menu, it also removed this healthy item from its store shelves.
- Kirkland Signature American Cheese. Millennials are speedily killing off American cheese, so it comes as little surprise that Costco discontinued this Kirkland Signature product.

- Roundup Weed Killer. Costco prides itself on providing high-quality products to its customers, but it also takes their health and safety very seriously.
- Half-Sheet Cakes. To call 2020 a disappointing year would be an understatement of epic proportions, but one major Costco product change was what some would call the icing on the cake.
- Kirkland Signature Performance One Golf Balls. Finding an everyday staple you love at Costco can feel like hitting a hole in one. This is especially true for golfers, whose highly specific tastes made Kirkland Signature golf balls a hot ticket item for anyone hitting the links.
- Polish Hotdogs. The time-honored tradition of treating yourself to a pre- or post-shopping snack at the Costco food court is as popular as the items the store stocks itself.
- Endangered Seafood. While it may have become in vogue to make eco-friendly business decisions in the past few years, the wholesale chain has been using its influence to help protect the planet for decades.
- Chocolate-Dipped Ice Cream Bars. Anyone looking for a sweet treat after perusing the aisles at Costco will be sorely disappointed to see one of the chain's standby's missing forevermore from its food courts' menus.
- Cigarettes. The major rollback in the number of retailers who offer tobacco products has ramped up in the past decade, and Costco can be counted as one member of the list.
- Kirkland Signature American Cheese. Certain Kirkland products fill an important void for customers that many don't realize until they're gone. That appears to be the case with its American cheese slices, which were sold unwrapped unlike Kraft Singles until they were pulled from shelves.
- Chocolate Frozen Yogurt. Menu changes can be difficult for large chains to roll out—even for operations with concise offerings like Costco's food courts.
- Chaokoh Coconut Milk. Taking a stand against animal cruelty is hardly a new concept in better business practices. But when PETA revealed in 2020 that popular coconut milk brand Chaokoh was using forced monkey labor to produce the product, companies like Costco began to take note.
