PIZZA BURGERS (from the cooks at PLHS) (from Lynda Allen 3/2015) These were served in the school lunch cafeterias all through the 1970's and 80's. It was one of those mystery meat scenarios, but man were they good.

1 lb Spam (ground)
2 lbs ground beef
3/4 lb shredded cheese, whatever the school lunches had (I assume american)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sage
1 1/2 tablespoons oregano
parsley flakes and pepper
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef.
  • Drain and add ground Spam.
  • Add seasonings, tomato sauce and paste.
  • When you are ready to serve stir in cheese.
  • Spread on hamburger buns.
  • Heat in oven and serve.
