1/3 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup molasses
1 large egg, room temperature
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons ground ginger
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1-1/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, melted
1 cup white baking chips, melted

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Beat in molasses, egg and vanilla. In another bowl, whisk flour, ginger, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, salt and cloves; gradually beat into creamed mixture. Divide dough in half. Shape each into a disk. Cover and refrigerate until easy to handle, about 1 hour., Preheat oven to 350°. On a lightly floured surface, roll each portion to 1/4-in. thickness. Cut with a floured 3-in. gingerbread man cookie cutter. , Place 2 in. apart on greased baking sheets. Create lines in each cutout with tines of a fork to look like fur. Bake until edges are firm, 7-9 minutes. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool completely. , To decorate, pipe melted semisweet chocolate for eyes, nose and utility belt, then pipe melted white chocolate for mouth and bullets. Let stand until set.

Great for a party or any old day of the week. These are sure to please any Star Wars fan. Two kinds of chocolate and the addition of cinnamon make them rather addictive. The recipe comes from "The Star Wars Cookbook: Wookie Cookies and Other Galactic Recipes"

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375º. Put the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a mixing bowl.
  • Stir with the wooden spoon until well mixed. Set aside.
  • Put the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in another mixing bowl. Using the electric mixer set on high speed, beat together until well blended and creamy, about 3 minutes.
  • Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract. Add the flour mixture and stir with the wooden spoon until blended. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Scoop up a rounded tablespoonful of the dough and drop onto a baking sheet.
  • Repeat until you have used up all the dough. Be sure to leave about 1 inch between the cookies because they spread as they bake.
  • Using pot holders, put the baking sheets in the oven. Bake until golden brown, about 10 minutes.
  • Again, using pot holders, remove the baking sheets from the oven. Lift the cookies from the baking sheets with a spatula, and place on cooling racks.
  • Let cool completely. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.

3 cups flour
¾ cup butter, melted
¾ cup sugar
½ cup molasses
½ cup water
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ginger
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg
½ cup chocolate chips
¼ cup white chocolate chip

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a medium mixing bowl. Once dough begins to form a ball in the center.
  • Dust generously with flour.
  • Separate into three sections to make rolling easier. Cover dough with plastic wrap or wax paper.
  • Chill for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
  • Dust a smooth surface with flour, and roll out a section of the dough to about ¼ inch (6 mm) thick. Use a gingerbread man cookie cutter, or a knife to slice out your Wookiees.
  • Wookiees are tall, so you may want to stretch out the head and feet! Place on parchment paper on a baking sheet, and score the cookie's surface to look like fur.
  • Bake at 350˚F (180˚C) for 10-12 min. Your Wookiees will puff up quickly!
  • Melt the chocolate and put into a piping bag.
  • Add the bandolier, eyes and nose.
  • Serve these soft and *chewie* Wookiee cookies
  • Enjoy!
