- Place a metal mixing bowl and metal whisk into the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Place the sugar into the mixing bowl and add the whipping cream. Whisk just until the cream reaches stiff peaks. Store any unused portion in an airtight container for up to 10 hours. When ready to use, rewhisk for 10 to 15 seconds.

- In another small bowl, soften gelatin with 2 teaspoons of cold water, then add boiling water, stirring until gelatin is completely dissolved.
- Set aside and cool until tepid.
- In a chilled mixing bowl, beat ice water and nonfat dry milk at high speed until mixture forms stiff peaks.
- Add sugar, still beating, then oil and gelatin.

WHIPPED TOPPING SUBSTITUTE
This is a simple recipe, containing no fat! None! So go ahead and have your dessert. You could use Splenda instead of the sugar.This is not supposed to rival Cool Whip, but it is one way to be able to at least enjoy your dessert. I have not tried it with Splenda(or other sugar substitutes) but imagine it would work. Remember to put your bowl and the beaters to your electric mixer in the freezer for at lease 30 minutes before beginning this recipe. Note: I use Carnation non-fat dry milk powder, and suggest you use a good product like it to get the best results.
