1/4 cup KRAFT Real Mayo Mayonnaise
8 slices cooked OSCAR MAYER Bacon, crumbled
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
2 flour tortillas (8 inch)
1/2 cup shredded romaine lettuce

Steps:

  • Mix cream cheese and mayo in medium bowl until blended. Add bacon and tomatoes; mix well.
  • Spread onto tortillas; top with lettuce. Roll up tightly.
  • Cut each roll-up diagonally into 7 slices.

Kosher salt
2 live lobsters (1 1/4 to 1 1/2 pounds each)
5 slices bacon
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1 stalk celery, finely chopped, plus 1 tablespoon chopped celery leaves
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 top-split hot dog buns
Freshly ground black pepper
4 leaves Boston or Bibb lettuce
1 tomato, halved and thinly sliced
1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives

Steps:

  • Fill a large pot with about 2 inches of water. Add 1 tablespoon salt and bring to a boil. Add the lobsters, cover and cook until the shells are bright red, about 10 minutes. Remove to a colander using tongs, then rinse under cold water to cool slightly.
  • Remove the meat from each lobster: Twist off the claws and tail. Remove the flippers at the end of the tail and insert your thumb to force out the meat. Crack the claws with the flat side of a knife or a lobster cracker; remove the meat. Roughly chop the lobster meat, transfer to a bowl and refrigerate about 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Lay the bacon on a foil-lined baking sheet and bake until browned and crisp, about 15 minutes; drain on paper towels. Combine the mayonnaise, chopped celery, basil and lemon juice in a large bowl; set aside.
  • Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat; add the buns and toast about 2 minutes per side. Spread about 1 tablespoon of the herbed mayonnaise in each roll. Stir the lobster meat into the remaining mayonnaise and season with salt and pepper. Fill each roll with a lettuce leaf, 1 slice of bacon, some lobster salad and a few tomato slices. Sprinkle with the celery leaves and chives. Crumble the remaining bacon slice and sprinkle on top.

This is a sandwich that I crave a lot. I am just posting it because I couldn't find it posted already on the Zaar...I couldn't believe that! My ex-DH wondered how I make these, so I decided to post it and send him the recipe. Nothing fancy -- just the real, simple, unabridged version. UPDATE: After reading Peg629's review, I have tried it that way, with one slice of toast spread with yellow mustard, and I must say it really, really makes an exceptional BLT! Such a subtle difference, yet genuinely makes a superior BLT, in my opinion! (Thank you Peg629 for that awesome suggestion!)

1/2 lb bacon (approx. 12 slices)
8 slices white bread
8 leaves iceberg lettuce, fresh and full
8 slices of ripened tomatoes
8 tablespoons Hellmann's mayonnaise

Steps:

  • Cook bacon until crispy, then drain on paper towels.
  • Toast the 8 slices of bread.
  • Spread 1 tablespoon mayo on each slice of toasted bread. (More or less, to taste).
  • Add 1 slice of lettuce to 4 pieces of mayo-spreaded toast.
  • Add 2 slices of tomato on top of lettuce.
  • Arrange 3 slices of bacon evenly on top of tomato. (Break bacon slices in half to fit, if needed.).
  • Add 1 slice of lettuce on top of bacon.
  • Put the remaining 4 pieces of mayo-spreaded toast on top to finish the sandwiches.
  • Enjoy!
  • NOTE: I also like to butter the toast slices before adding the mayo -- higher in fat, but tastier, in my opinion!

I like this recipe because there are a lot of variations that can be made with this very basic idea. I hope you like these as much as my family, they disappeared in 5 minutes flat! Cook time is refridgeration time.

4 ounces softened cream cheese
1/2 cup light mayonnaise
1/4 cup finely chopped sun-dried tomato packed in oil
6 slices cooked bacon or 6 slices cooked turkey bacon, crumbled
3 (9 inch) spinach tortillas or 27 inches tomato tortillas
1 cup chopped Italian plum tomato, seeded
1 1/2 cups romaine lettuce, shredded

Steps:

  • In a small bowl mix cream cheese, mayo, and sun dried tomatoes.
  • Add bacon but be careful not to crumble it too much.
  • Spread mayo mixture over tortillas and top each with plum tomatoes and lettuce.
  • Roll tightly and secure in plastic wrap.
  • Refrigerated for one hour so they get firm.
  • To serve cut each roll into 1 inch thick sliced with a serrated knife.
  • A regular knife will squish them!
