PREFERRED AMP KITS.... | TELECASTER GUITAR FORUM
Feb 16, 2024 Weber is an honest company. Ted Weber set out to build great speakers, and his company still does. When he decided to offer amp kits, his goal was different: to save builders money. If 'best buy' means cheapest, Weber likely still wins. We see Weber builds here frequently, and they work. But if 'best buy' means better kit, Mojo likely wins.

WEBER 12F150 TESTS.. IN A SFDR/BF'D - THE GEAR PAGE
May 13, 2025 I had a 50-watt Weber 12F150 in my 1973 DR (BF'd by David Allen) for several years. After a long break-in period, it was a nice, complimentary speaker for that amp.

DOPING - WHAT IS IT? - TELECASTER GUITAR FORUM
Mar 23, 2003 In a discussion of Weber speakers below some members mentioned doping, and whether to use speakers with or without doping. This is the first time I've heard of this (and I've been around for a long time!). Can someone please explain doing, or direct me to more information? Thanks.

FENDER CHAMPION 600 SPEAKER AND TUBES QUESTION - THE GEAR PAGE
Mar 15, 2011 I replaced the stock speaker with a Weber Signature 6" fully ribbed speaker, and the stock pre-amp tube with a GT I had lying around. Also replaced the horrid grill cloth with another that allows the speaker to breathe.

GENERAL IMPRESSIONS OF WEBER 12F150 - TELECASTER GUITAR FORUM
May 3, 2003 The Weber is a very bright and brash sounding speaker, which I was able to tame by rolling back the treble to 5-6, and boosting the bass a little. I'm going to leave it in for a while, play a few gigs with it, see how it goes. Right now I'm kind of thinking that the Jensen is the better speaker, more weight, bigger voice coil, etc.

ALNICO SPEAKER COMPARISON: CELESTION BLUE VS WEBER BLUE DOG
Dec 11, 2009 The Weber is a flatter/simpler sounding speaker compared to the Celestion Blue, with a bit darker voice than the Celestion Blue, and not as swirly/three dimensional. There's nothing wrong with the Weber Alnico Blue Dog, but if you want a Celestion Blue, the Weber is not going to get you all the way there.
