Vodka Cucumber Gimlet Food
CUCUMBER GIMLET (VODKA)
A light, summery cocktail, Russian by background. A recipe from Bar Lubitsch in West Hollywood California (found in Maxim magazine). NOTE: I really liked this one. . .very faint cucumber taste but great fresh cucumber smell. I used 1.5 packets of stevia instead of sugar with great results. I also served mine over ice as it was a bit too potent for me as written!!!

Steps:
- Muddle the cucumber with the sugar in the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Add in the rest of the ingredients and 1/2 cup of ice.
- Shake vigorously for 10 seconds and strain into a birdbath champagne glass or martini glass.
- Garnish with a slice (or ribbon) of cucumber or a lime wedge.

Steps:
- Add the cucumber slices to a cocktail shaker and muddle them (gently mash) to release the juices.
- Add the gin or cucumber vodka, lime juice, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker. Fill it with ice and shake until cold.
- Strain the drink into glass. If desired, add a splash of soda water. Garnish with a lime wedge or cucumber slice and serve.

- In a cocktail shaker, muddle cucumber chunks until completely smashed. Add gin or vodka, lime juice and agave, fill shake with ice and shake vigorously until chilled. Adjust sweetness with additional agave as needed.
- Strain drink into a rocks glass filled with ice; top with club soda. For a more traditional presentation, strain cocktail into a martini glass or coupe glass.
- To make a cucumber ribbon, use a vegetable peeler to peel lengthwise down the cucumber, you’ll need to make a few peels until you get a nice thick peel from the center of the cucumber. Fold cucumber ribbon back and forth into an accordion, then skewer with a cocktail skewer or toothpick.
