A Saskatchewan Roughrider recipe that never fails to please. Surprisingly this ketchup based sauce empties long before the other offerings and always an empty platter. So simple ... so good! I love this sauce using our Canadian Diva's Recipe#58094. Recipe courtesy of Tom Whitehouse. Use freshly prepared meatballs or prepared frozen. These can be made and ready to use at a moments notice!

Ingredients

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons white vinegar
1 cup ketchup
1/2 teaspoon onion salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon white sugar

Steps:

In a medium sauce pan mix ingredients and simmer til blended, add your prepared meatballs and simmer about fifteen minutes.
Looks exceptionally appetizing served on a white platter with a tooth pick set in each meatball.
I assure an empty platter!

Ingredients

1 large egg, lightly beaten
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
1/4 cup 2% milk
1/3 cup finely chopped onion
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 pound ground beef
SAUCE:
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

In a small bowl, combine the first 6 ingredients. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into 1-in. balls. , In a large skillet over medium heat, brown meatballs; drain. Place in a 2-1/2-qt. baking dish. Combine the sauce ingredients. Pour over meatballs. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 50-60 minutes or until meatballs are no longer pink.

Saute onion until clear in appearance. (I didn't bother with this step onion will cook with meatballs.)
