BARBECUE OR OVEN BAKED PIZZA BREAD

Barbecue or Oven Baked Pizza Bread image

Easy to make pizza bread starting with a loaf of French bread or you could also use kaiser rolls or other bakery buns. Great for lunch or dinner, or cut into smaller slices for appetizers. You can bake it in the oven, or cook the hamburger first and make it on the barbecue. You can change the seasonings to taste and add other favorite pizza toppings if you like. Times given are for the oven method. Additional time is required to cook the hamburger for the barbecue method.

CHEESY BEER BATTER BREAD

Cheesy Beer Batter Bread image

This is a fast recipe that is perfect for those times when you realize you don't have bread in the house. It is a slightly dense loaf that works well with soup, chili, etc. It can be customized in a number of ways - add any variety of cheese and herbs to the dry ingredients before adding the beer. To avoid a bitter aftertaste from the beer, use the lightest bottled brew you can find.

BEER BATTER BREAD

Beer Batter Bread image

I received this recipe from a friend after desperately trying to find a cheaper way to make beer bread rather than paying $6 a loaf for Tastefully Simple. My mother in law raves over this and she sells TS. She likes this version better and I must say my family doesn't even know the difference.

TROOPS BBQ PIZZA OVEN TACO PIZZA

Troops BBQ Pizza Oven Taco Pizza image

Put a new twist on Taco Tuesdays with a Taco Pizza! The secret to making this a great pizza is the ground Turkey. Your guests will likely think the meat is beef because of the Taco seasoning, but you'll secretly know the reason the crust cooked to perfection is because of the reduced grease. Serve the slices with a dab of Sour Cream for an extra treat!

Provided by SwagDaddy

Categories     < 60 Mins

Time 55m

Yield 12 Slices, 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 pre-made 12 inch prepared pizza crust
1 lb ground turkey
1 red onion
1 tomatoes
1 jalapeno pepper
1 (16 ounce) can black beans
2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
1 (2 ounce) packet taco seasoning
1/2 cup water
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 1/2 cups shredded monterey jack cheese

Steps:

  • Brown the ground Turkey in a skillet. Once browned, add the Taco Seasoning Packet and the water. Use less water than instructed on the Seasoning Packet to compensate for the liquid in the Tomato Sauce.
  • Dice the Red Onion, Tomato and Jalapeno. You will have extra onion.
  • Spread one can of Tomato sauce on each crust.
  • Add half of the seasoned Turkey to each pizza.
  • Rinse the Black Beans in a colander under water to remove the bean juice. Add half the can of Beans to each pizza.
  • Top the pizza with the Onion, Tomato and Pepper.
  • Top with even portions of the Cheddar and Monterrey Jack Cheese on each pizza.
  • Preheat the Troops BBQ Pizza Oven to 400 degrees F with the pizza stone in the oven.
  • Cook each pizza on the pizza stone in the Troops BBQ Pizza Oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is a golden brown.
  • NOTE: It will take about 30 minutes for the charcoal to heat the Troops BBQ Pizza Oven to 400 degrees F. Plan this into the time it takes to make the recipe. While the recipe will also work in a conventional oven, you won't have the same smoke flavor that the pizza oven gives you.

GARLIC BREAD PIZZAS

Garlic bread pizzas image

A fresh, easy-to-prepare snack

Provided by Good Food team

Categories     Dinner, Lunch, Main course

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 11

500g strong white flour , plus extra for rolling
7g sachet fast-action yeast
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil
50g butter , softened
2 garlic cloves , crushed
300g pack mozzarella , drained
4 tomatoes , roughly chopped
handful basil leaves , roughly chopped
1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
1 tsp balsamic vinegar

Steps:

  • Tip all of the base ingredients into a mixing bowl. Pour over 300ml warm water - not too hot. Stir quite hard with a spoon until the mixture comes together.
  • Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead 2-3 times until the mixture forms a ball. Divide dough into 8 equalsize pieces. Take 1 piece, leaving the remainder loosely covered with oiled cling film. Lightly flour the surface again and use a rolling pin to roll out dough into a round about 15cm diameter or as thin as you can. Put pizza on a baking sheet.
  • Mix together the butter and crushed garlic, then spread a little over the pizza. Tear the mozzarella into thin strips and scatter over. Repeat for the remaining pieces of dough. You should be able to fit 2 pizzas per baking sheet; depending on how many baking sheets you have, you may have to cook in batches.
  • Heat oven to 240C/fan 220C/gas 9. Bake pizzas for 12-15 mins until crisp and cooked through. Meanwhile, mix together the remaining ingredients, then season well. When the pizza comes out of the oven, top with the tomato mixture and serve straight away.

BEER BATTER BREAD (ALMOST NO FAT)

Beer Batter Bread (almost No Fat) image

I can't remember where I got this recipe, but I have had it for a long time, and the bread is especially good for a quick-bread. I normally just do yeast-breads.

Provided by Toby Jermain

Categories     Quick Breads

Time 55m

Yield 1 loaf, 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

3 cups unbleached flour (or replace up to half with whole wheat flour)
3 1/2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
12 ounces beer, preferably a medium-amber ale or 12 ounces dark beer, room temperature (See comments)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degF.
  • Spray a 9"x5"x3" loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray, and set aside.
  • Sift all dry ingredients into a bowl.
  • Add the beer all at once, and mix by hand until just combined.
  • Transfer the batter to the prepared pan.
  • Good Luck!
  • This stuff can be real gooey; smooth it out as best you can, and slam the pan down on the counter two or three times to smooth out the batter.
  • Bake for 35-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • The recipe also says that the top should be light golden, but do not count on this.
  • After cooking, this bread may still look kind of anemic, real pale, kinda raw!
  • Especially if you are using a light colored beer!
  • BUT, if the toothpick says it's done, it's really done!
  • Turn out onto a rack to cool.
  • Eat it as soon as it is cool enough to touch, or let it cool to room temperature and wrap to eat a little later, or wrap real good and freeze for up to a month.
  • If refrigerated or frozen, bring to room temperature or warm before serving.
  • It's great fresh from the oven, and it makes wonderful toast.
  • Notes& Comments:.
  • *This recipe makes an extremely dense, heavy bread with a crunchy crust.
  • It's great!
  • I like it as is!
  • But, as noted above, it does look a little anemic.
  • *You might want to replace up to half of the white flour with whole-wheat flour to darken the loaf.
  • Also, a darker beer will make a darker loaf.
  • Works great with Guinness!
  • *You might also want to experiment with other beers, for different flavors and different degrees of richness.
  • Obviously, the only ingredient in this recipe that will change the overall flavor is the beer.
  • Enjoy!
  • *We have also doubled the recipe, using 1 bottle of Guinness and 1 bottle of Bass, with 4 cups unbleached flour and 2 cup whole wheat flour; obviously this makes 2 loaves.
