1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and Pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Place your chicken in the bottom of a 4 quart slow cooker.
  • Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil over your chicken.
  • Mix remaining ingredients in a small bowl and sprinkle half of your seasoning mixture over your chicken.
  • Flip your chicken and sprinkle with remaining mixture.
  • Cover and cook on low for 2.5-4 hours on low or 1 hour 15 minutes to 2 hours on high. (Check with a meat thermometer to make sure your chicken reaches proper internal cooking temperature.)

2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (red)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 onion
1 large chicken

Steps:

  • Combine the dried spices in a small bowl.
  • Loosely chop the onion and place it in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Remove any giblets from the chicken and then rub the spice mixture all over. You can even put some of the spices inside the cavity and under the skin covering the breasts.
  • Put prepared chicken on top of the onions in the slow cooker, cover it, and turn it on to high. There is no need to add any liquid.
  • Cook for 4 - 5 hours on high (for a 3 or 4 pound chicken) or until the chicken is falling off the bone. Don't forget to make your homemade stock with the leftover bones!

I need to start getting the freezer ready for summer harvest and figured let's do a quick and fast dinner for later when we are relaxing. I pulled out frozen chicken legs and played a bit with some spices not used together before. I was unsure of the combo of lemon and worschestire but am really trying to mix things up some. This is sooooo simple and economical. Can be increased for family size meal. Served with fresh corn on the cob and beans from the garden.

4 chicken legs with thigh, frozen
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons lemon pepper, spice
1 garlic, whole mashed
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon oregano, crushed (I use fresh from garden but dry is fine)

Steps:

  • Put all ingrediants in crockpot , stir it up some and set on low for 6 hours WALA!
  • Add in additional spices to your taste. I can see adding hot peppers, basil, green beans or any number of things to this simple dish. Use your imagination.

I made this for my husband when he had to eat his food soft and not too spicy. He loved this! This is a good starting point recipe, so feel free to add vegetables if you like. You may also use any chicken part for this recipe.

3 large skinless chicken breasts (bone in)
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can chicken broth
2 (7/8 ounce) packages mushroom gravy mix or 2 (7/8 ounce) packages brown gravy mix

Steps:

  • Place chicken breasts(you may remove bones if you like) in crock pot. Pour in chicken broth. If it doesn't cover the chicken, you may add a little bit of water. Cook on low 8 hours, or high 4-5 hours. Check for tenderness. When it fall off the bone when pulled with a fork, remove from crock pot. Remove bones.
  • In a saucepan, pour 2 cups of broth from crock pot. Add 2 packages gravy mix and stir until it thickens, about 2 minutes. If you like you can make gravy from scratch, using the crock pot broth.
  • Serve gravy over chicken. I always serve this with mashed potatoes, but noodles would be good too. You may season to taste at this point, but the gravy mix and the chicken broth are pretty salty, so taste first. Enjoy!
  • Note:.
  • I served this to my husband, only using 1 cup broth and 1 gravy package. I refrigerated the rest of the chicken and broth, making it again the next day with the other gravy package.

Tender, fall-off-the-bone chicken! Skip the overnight refrigeration if you are in a hurry. For variety, eliminate the onion and substitute a quartered lemon or two, stuffed into the chicken cavity. Chef Shapeweaver had a good suggestion: Use Fajita Seasoning Mix #28011 as another variation. Thanks! The standard size slow cookers are a bit too small and a whole chicken won't fit. You'll need a 6-quart slow cooker for this recipe.

2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder

1 large roasting chicken (with pop-up timer if possible)
1 cup chopped onion (optional)

  • Place in resealable plastic bag and refrigerate overnight. (I usually skip this step because I'm always in a hurry).

  • Cook on low 4-8 hours.
  • Note: I highly recommend a pop-up timer in the chicken because some crock pots cook faster/slower than others (my crock pot cooks this recipe in 4-5 hours).

1 (4 lb) roasting chickens
1 (14 ounce) can chicken broth (or your chicken stock)
2 tablespoons salt
2 teaspoons pepper

1/4 cup water

Steps:

  • Cut the chicken in half (so both pieces have a breast, leg, wing, etc.).
  • Lay the halves side by side with skin side up in crock pot.
  • Pour the chicken stock over the chicken.
  • Sprinkle with the salt, pepper and garlic powder.
  • Cook on High for 2 hours.
  • Then turn down to low for 2 hours.
  • For Gravy:.
  • Remove the broth from the crock pot into a 1 quart saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • Mix 1/4 cup water with the cornstarch and slowly pour into the boiling broth.
  • Stir until desired thickness.
