Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8x8 square baking dish with foil or parchment paper, grease and set aside.
- Using a hand mixer or stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat butter and brown sugar until smooth and combined. Add flour and salt and beat until combined (the mixture will be crumbly, but should hold together if you press it between two fingers).
- Dump the crust into the prepared pan and use the bottom of a measuring cup to press the crust into a flat even layer. Bake for about 15 minutes, until the edges are just beginning to turn golden brown.
- Immediately after removing the crust from the oven, sprinkle the top with 1/4 cup toffee bits. Combine the sweetened condensed milk and melted butter, then evenly pour it over the top of the toffee chips (I pour it in a zig-zag/back and forth motion so that there is even coverage).
- Return to the oven and bake for another 7-10 minutes, until the mixture is bubbling.
- Remove from the oven and place the pan on a wire rack. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top. Wait 3-5 minutes for the chocolate chips to soften, then gently spread the softened chocolate chips using a small offset spatula. Be careful not to push down too hard with spatula, you only want to spread the chocolate, not the toffee layer underneath. Immediately top with 3/4 cup toffee bits, and a sprinkling of flaky sea salt (if desired).
- Allow the bars to continue to cool until they are room temperature. After cooling you can move them to the refrigerator briefly to firm up the chocolate (if necessary).

TOFFEE BROWNIES
This brownie batter comes from a mix, but the difference is adding rice crisp like cereal and chocolate covered toffee bits. If you are looking for a different brownie to prepare and you don't have a lot of time to do it in, consider these. I usually bake at the minimum time, sometimes less, to get the moistest bar.

TOFFEE BARS
My mom made these bars when I was a child, and she still does, so they bring back a lot of memories for me. This recipe is my own variation that I developed in recent years; I love the colors of the cranberries and white chocolate - they're very festive. But sometimes I make them just like Mom with milk chocolate and walnuts. Most of the time I forget to add the salt, and I find it doesn't make any difference - they always taste delicious and are always a hit!

- Bake until slightly browned, about 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and immediately place squares of white chocolate on top, gently spreading with an off-set spatula or dull knife as they melt. Sprinkle with nuts and cranberries. Allow to set, about 15 minutes, and then cut into squares.

Steps:
- Melt the butter in a pot, remove from the heat and stir in the white sugar.
- Once that is combined, mix in your cocoa, then beat in the eggs.
- Once everything is combined really well, stir in your flour until just combined. The less you stir, the less "cakey" these are going to be and more chewy, which in my opinion, makes all the difference between a good brownie and a great one. Chewy brownies rock.
- Kick the tires and light the fires to 350 degrees.
- Line an 8 inch x 8 inch pan ( for thicker brownies) or a 9 inch x 13 inch pan (for thinner brownies) with parchment paper then pour the brownie mixture in.
- Bake in the 350 degree oven for 15- 25 minutes, depending on which pan you are using, until the brownies start to pull away from the edge of the parchment paper. The 9 inch x 13 inch will bake up faster than the 8 inch x 8 inch.
- Open the oven and pour the bag of Heath chips on top, spreading out evenly. Place back into the oven for 1-2 minutes to make sure they melt, then remove.

TOFFEE BLONDE BROWNIES WITH CHEATER CARAMEL ICING
With every bite you get soft and chewy blonde brownies with bits of toffee and caramel icing that tastes like the old-fashioned icing your Grandma used to spread on her three layer Caramel Cake. The "cheater" part of the icing is that no candy thermometer is needed and it doesn't harden before you get the brownies frosted like the old-fashioned kind is prone to do. This recipe is basically a caramel sauce with powdered sugar stirred in!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°.Beat butter and sugars together with an electric mixer in a large mixing bowl 3 minutes at medium speed or until light in color. Set a timer; this step is important. Add eggs, one at a time, beating just until each one is incorporated. Add vanilla and beat at low speed just until incorporated
- Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium size bowl. I like to use a large paper plate so I don't have to wash another bowl. Add flour mixture and toffee bits to mixing bowl; beat just until flour is incorporated.
- Line a 13 x 9-inch baking pan with aluminum foil, allowing edges to overhang 2 inches on the end. This will help remove the brownies for easy cutting. Coat the foil with cooking spray or brush lightly with oil. Dollop batter on bottom of lined pan, then spread the batter evenly to the edges of the pan. Bake for 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out almost clean. Don't over bake them. You want them to be a little soft and gooey. Let cool in pan 20 minutes on a wire rack.
- Meanwhile, prepare the icing. Combine brown sugar, evaporated milk, butter, and corn syrup in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring often. Boil 5 minutes without stirring. Set a timer. Remove from heat and let cool 15 minutes. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla.
- Beat caramel mixture in the saucepan with a handheld electric mixer about 5 minutes or until it starts to thicken. It will still be pourable but will thicken as it cools. Pour icing over brownies in pan, spreading it to the edges. Let the brownies and icing cool completely and icing is firm, about 1 to 2 hours, before cutting.

Steps:
- Preheat oven 160C/Gas 3/fan oven 140C. Butter and line the base of a shallow 23cm/9in square cake tin. Melt the chocolate and butter together, stir well and cool.
- Whisk the eggs until pale, then whisk in the sugar until thick and glossy and well combined.
- Gently fold in the melted chocolate mixture, then sift in the flour and baking powder and stir gently until smooth.
- Pour into the prepared tin and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until firm to the touch. Test by inserting a wooden cocktail stick into the middle-there should be a few moist crumbs sticking to it. The mixture will still be soft in the centre but will firm up on cooling.
- Cool in the tin on a wire rack for at least 1 hour, then cut into 16 squares and finish cooling on the rack, although I must admit it is much better to skip all this cooling malarky and eat them immediately when warm and fudgy!

- Saltine Cracker Toffee. If you’ve never tried this before, you’ll think it’s way more complicated than it really is. When, in fact, this recipe doesn’t even need a thermometer.
- Simple Toffee Popcorn Recipe. This recipe is similar to the recipe above, in that you’ll make a basic caramel recipe, pour it over the popcorn, and then let the oven finish cooking it.
- Homemade Skor Bars. Skor candy bars are made up of a thin layer of toffee covered in chocolate. Skor also makes delicious toffee bits that you can add to your baking.
- Toffee Brownies. If you like a little crunch in your brownies but need to keep them nut-free, this recipe is for you. It’s super decadent and beautifully fudgy, and the toffee bits leave behind a subtle caramel flavor along with pops of texture you’ll soon fall in love with.
- Caramel Toffee Bits Ice Cream. To make this velvety smooth ice cream, you’ll make a simple vanilla base with half and half, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla.
- No-Bake Toffee Cheesecake. Although I prefer the rich decadence of baked cheesecake, no-bake cheesecakes are a fantastic way to curb the craving in a pinch.
- Heath Bar Cookies. If you can’t find Skor toffee bits, chances are you’ll see Heath English toffee bits on the shelves instead. Heath bars are like Skor bars; only they usually include almonds.
- Banana Toffee Bread. Banana bread will always be one of my favorite things to make. And yes, I buy bananas and leave them out just so I can get baking!
- Brown Sugar Toffee With Nuts. This brown sugar brittle has such a stunning color, and the flavor is magnified, thanks to the molasses. The first step in this recipe is to get your nuts ready.
- Peanut Butter Saltine Toffee Bark. If you thought that top recipe was good, just wait until you try this one! It’s still crunchy, sweet, and superbly salty, but it also has a creamy layer of peanut butter to boot.
