1 box dark chocolate brownies (suitable for a 9x13 inch pan. I used Pillsbury Dark Chocolate Family Size)
3 bars Hershey's Symphony Bars (with Milk Chocolate with Almonds and Toffee)

Steps:

  • Mix brownies according to package instructions.
  • Grease or spray the bottom of a 9x13 or 11x7 baking dish. Cover the bottom of the pan with half of the batter. Place toffee bars over the brownie batter. Top with remaining brownie batter.
  • Brownies are done when they slightly pull away from the sides of the dish.
  • Allow to cool completely before cutting. May be refrigerated.

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Beat butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and egg yolk in a large bowl; stir in flour and salt. Press dough into prepared baking dish.
  • Bake in preheated oven until crust is light brown, 25 to 30 minutes.

1 box brownie mix (I used Ghiradelli Dark Chocolate)
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup International Delight Heath® Coffee Creamer
1 egg
1 package Golden Oreos
1 8- ounce bar cream cheese
1/4 cup heavy cream
10 ounces milk chocolate chips (or semi-sweet)
1/2 cup toffee bits

Steps:

  • Combine brownie mix, vegetable oil, egg, and 1/4 cup International Delight Heath® Coffee Creamer in a bowl and mix until combined.
  • Bake at 325 F in a 9x13 pan for 40-45 minutes (or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean).
  • In a food processor, crush Golden Oreos and then transfer to mixing bowl. Stir in room temperature (or slightly warm) cream cheese until fully combined.
  • Allow brownies to cool and then top with Golden Oreo mixture.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine heavy cream and remaining 1/4 cup of International Delight Heath® Coffee Creamer. Once mixture starts to boil, pour over chocolate and stir until smooth.

  • Prepare the brownie mix according to package directions.
  • Line a 13 by 9-inch cake pan with aluminum foil and spray with vegetable oil cooking spray. Spoon in half of the brownie batter and smooth with a spatula or the back of a spoon. Place the candy bars side by side on top of the batter. Cover with the remaining batter.

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
1-1/4 cups all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup toffee bits*, divided
1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
1 cup milk chocolate chips
flaky sea salt (optional )

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8x8 square baking dish with foil or parchment paper, grease and set aside.
  • Using a hand mixer or stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat butter and brown sugar until smooth and combined. Add flour and salt and beat until combined (the mixture will be crumbly, but should hold together if you press it between two fingers).
  • Dump the crust into the prepared pan and use the bottom of a measuring cup to press the crust into a flat even layer. Bake for about 15 minutes, until the edges are just beginning to turn golden brown.
  • Immediately after removing the crust from the oven, sprinkle the top with 1/4 cup toffee bits. Combine the sweetened condensed milk and melted butter, then evenly pour it over the top of the toffee chips (I pour it in a zig-zag/back and forth motion so that there is even coverage).
  • Return to the oven and bake for another 7-10 minutes, until the mixture is bubbling.
  • Remove from the oven and place the pan on a wire rack. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top. Wait 3-5 minutes for the chocolate chips to soften, then gently spread the softened chocolate chips using a small offset spatula. Be careful not to push down too hard with spatula, you only want to spread the chocolate, not the toffee layer underneath. Immediately top with 3/4 cup toffee bits, and a sprinkling of flaky sea salt (if desired).
  • Allow the bars to continue to cool until they are room temperature. After cooling you can move them to the refrigerator briefly to firm up the chocolate (if necessary).

My mom made these bars when I was a child, and she still does, so they bring back a lot of memories for me. This recipe is my own variation that I developed in recent years; I love the colors of the cranberries and white chocolate - they're very festive. But sometimes I make them just like Mom with milk chocolate and walnuts. Most of the time I forget to add the salt, and I find it doesn't make any difference - they always taste delicious and are always a hit!

1 cup light brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
3/4 cup dried cranberries, coarsely chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a mixer, beat the butter, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla. Gradually mix in flour, then salt, and continue beating until well blended, scraping down the sides of the bowl as necessary. Transfer batter to a 9 by 13-inch pan, and flatten out with a rubber spatula.

1 cup light brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
4 eggs
1 cup all purpose flour**
½ teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup toffee bits (reserve ¼ cup for topping)
½ cup coconut oil (melted)
⅔ cup brown rice flour
⅓ cup tapioca starch

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325°F. Line a 9x13 pan with parchment paper or line it with foil and grease it very well with butter.
  • Melt the butter in a large saucepan, over medium heat. When the butter has melted, add the chocolate chips and stir with a whisk until they have melted. Remove from the heat, add the sugars and whisk until smooth.
  • Add the vanilla and then whisk in the eggs, one at a time. When the mixture is smooth and shiny, slowly add the dry ingredients to the mixture in the saucepan. Stir to combine thoroughly. Add 3/4 cup toffee bits.
  • Spread the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan and then sprinkle the top with the reserved toffee bits. Bake for 28-32 minutes, just until an inserted toothpick shows moist crumbs. (30 minutes is perfect for my oven.) Let the bars cool completely before slicing. Enjoy!

3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup cocoa
3 eggs
3/4 cup butter
8 ounces bag Heath Milk chocolate toffee bits

Steps:

  • Melt the butter in a pot, remove from the heat and stir in the white sugar.
  • Once that is combined, mix in your cocoa, then beat in the eggs.
  • Once everything is combined really well, stir in your flour until just combined. The less you stir, the less "cakey" these are going to be and more chewy, which in my opinion, makes all the difference between a good brownie and a great one. Chewy brownies rock.
  • Kick the tires and light the fires to 350 degrees.
  • Line an 8 inch x 8 inch pan ( for thicker brownies) or a 9 inch x 13 inch pan (for thinner brownies) with parchment paper then pour the brownie mixture in.
  • Bake in the 350 degree oven for 15- 25 minutes, depending on which pan you are using, until the brownies start to pull away from the edge of the parchment paper. The 9 inch x 13 inch will bake up faster than the 8 inch x 8 inch.
  • Open the oven and pour the bag of Heath chips on top, spreading out evenly. Place back into the oven for 1-2 minutes to make sure they melt, then remove.

The "cheater" part of the icing is that no candy thermometer is needed and it doesn't harden before you get the brownies frosted like the old-fashioned kind is prone to do. This recipe is basically a caramel sauce with powdered sugar stirred in!

1/2 cup salted butter (softened)
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 8-oz package Bits o' Brickle Toffee Bits (Found near chocolate chips.)
1 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup evaporated milk
3 tablespoons salted butter
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
2 cups powder sugar (sifted)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°.Beat butter and sugars together with an electric mixer in a large mixing bowl 3 minutes at medium speed or until light in color. Set a timer; this step is important. Add eggs, one at a time, beating just until each one is incorporated. Add vanilla and beat at low speed just until incorporated
  • Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium size bowl. I like to use a large paper plate so I don't have to wash another bowl. Add flour mixture and toffee bits to mixing bowl; beat just until flour is incorporated.
  • Line a 13 x 9-inch baking pan with aluminum foil, allowing edges to overhang 2 inches on the end. This will help remove the brownies for easy cutting. Coat the foil with cooking spray or brush lightly with oil. Dollop batter on bottom of lined pan, then spread the batter evenly to the edges of the pan. Bake for 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out almost clean. Don't over bake them. You want them to be a little soft and gooey. Let cool in pan 20 minutes on a wire rack.
  • Meanwhile, prepare the icing. Combine brown sugar, evaporated milk, butter, and corn syrup in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring often. Boil 5 minutes without stirring. Set a timer. Remove from heat and let cool 15 minutes. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla.
  • Beat caramel mixture in the saucepan with a handheld electric mixer about 5 minutes or until it starts to thicken. It will still be pourable but will thicken as it cools. Pour icing over brownies in pan, spreading it to the edges. Let the brownies and icing cool completely and icing is firm, about 1 to 2 hours, before cutting.

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9x13" pan with foil and spray with cooking spray.
  • Cream brown sugar and butter in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until combined. Add baking powder, salt, and flour and mix. Stir in 1/2 cup of the chopped Skor bars (2 candy bars).
  • Press into prepared pan (dough is sticky, spray your hands with cooking spray to avoid it sticking to your hands). Press remaining chopped Skor bars evenly on top of dough.
  • Bake for 24-26 minutes. Be careful not to overcook - the center will still be jiggly when you take these out of the oven and they will finish cooking and firming up as they cool. Cool completely before slicing into squares.

Steps:

  • For brownies:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter and flour 13 1/2x8 1/2-inch baking dish. Melt chocolate and butter with espresso powder in top of double boiler over simmering water; stir until smooth. Cool slightly.
  • Whisk eggs in large bowl to blend. Gradually whisk in sugar. Add vanilla and salt. Whisk in melted choclate. Add flour and stir until just blended. Spread batter in prepared dish. Bake until tester inserted in center comes out with a few moist crumbs, about 30 minutes. Cool brownies completely in pan on rack. (Can be prepared 8 hours ahead. Cover tightly.)
  • For topping:
  • Blend cream cheese, cream and vanilla in processor until smooth. Mix in sugar.

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line an 8x8 with aluminum foil or parchment paper and spray with cooking spray. Set aside.
  • Put the Ritz Crackers into a food processor and pulse until they are fine crumbs. Or put into a gallon sized baggie and crush until fine with a rolling pin.
  • In a medium mixing bowl mix together the Ritz cracker crumbs, toffee chips, and sweetened condensed milk until incorporated.
  • Press the crumbs into the bottom of your 8x8 pan. Sprinkle the chocolate evenly on the top. Bake for 10 minutes. Once the pan comes out of the oven, spread melted chocolate chips evenly with a spoon. Allow to cool for about an hour and enjoy!

The moistest squidgiest brownies to grace the planet. The recipe is from the Good Food 'Cakes & Bakes' book and I have no clue why it is not on the website-You really must give these a go!

Steps:

  • Preheat oven 160C/Gas 3/fan oven 140C. Butter and line the base of a shallow 23cm/9in square cake tin. Melt the chocolate and butter together, stir well and cool.
  • Whisk the eggs until pale, then whisk in the sugar until thick and glossy and well combined.
  • Gently fold in the melted chocolate mixture, then sift in the flour and baking powder and stir gently until smooth.
  • Pour into the prepared tin and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until firm to the touch. Test by inserting a wooden cocktail stick into the middle-there should be a few moist crumbs sticking to it. The mixture will still be soft in the centre but will firm up on cooling.
  • Cool in the tin on a wire rack for at least 1 hour, then cut into 16 squares and finish cooling on the rack, although I must admit it is much better to skip all this cooling malarky and eat them immediately when warm and fudgy!

1 bag Heath baking bits (or about 1 1/2 cup chopped Heath bars)
12oz semi sweet chocolate
1/3 cup milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 In a mixing bowl stir cocoa and melted butter until combined. Add sugar and mix well. Stir in eggs one at a time. Add salt and flour, stirring until well combined. Stir in 1 cup Heath bits. Spread into a greased 9x13" pan and bake about 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with fudgy crumbs.
  • Add chocolate to a glass bowl and set aside. In a small sauce pan, heat the milk just until it starts to simmer. Pour over chocolate and stir until smooth. Pour over cooled brownies and sprinkle with remaining Heath bits.
