RESTAURANT-STYLE SALSA

Restaurant-Style Salsa image

Food Network's Ree Drummond shares her recipe for homemade restaurant-style salsa that the whole family will love!

Provided by Ree Drummond : Food Network

Categories     condiment

Time 1h15m

Yield 12 servings

Number Of Ingredients 10

Two 10-ounce cans diced tomatoes and green chiles, such as Rotel
One 28-ounce can whole tomatoes with juice
1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves (or more to taste!)
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 whole jalapeno, quartered and sliced thin, with seeds and membrane
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1/2 whole lime, juiced

Steps:

  • Combine the diced tomatoes, whole tomatoes, cilantro, onions, garlic, jalapeno, cumin, salt, sugar and lime juice in a blender or food processor. (This is a very large batch. I recommend using a 12-cup food processor, or you can process the ingredients in batches and then mix everything together in a large mixing bowl.)
  • Pulse until you get the salsa to the consistency you'd like. I do about 10 to 15 pulses. Test seasonings with a tortilla chip and adjust as needed.
  • Refrigerate the salsa for at least an hour before serving.

FRESH RESTAURANT-STYLE SALSA

Fresh Restaurant-Style Salsa image

This addictive salsa is restaurant quality, or maybe even better! It's fresh and flavorful, not too spicy, and easy to make in a food processor with a mix of ripe and canned Roma tomatoes. This makes a big batch which is good because it will go fast. Serve with lots of thin, crispy tortilla chips and a margarita, of course!

BEST EVER SALSA

Best Ever Salsa image

This recipe is so close to the Salsa served at Pappasitos that you will swear you are there. Every time I serve this people ask for the recipe. Best part is that it is so easy and doesn't require fresh tomatoes so it works all winter.

Provided by Golfcrazy

Categories     Low Protein

Time 15m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 medium sweet onion, chopped
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon salt
2 fresh garlic cloves, chopped
2 -3 jalapeno peppers
1 bunch fresh cilantro

Steps:

  • Put all ingredients into blender and mix or pulse until blended.
  • Do not liquify.
  • Note: Seeds in peppers determine heat so remove if you like mild salsa. I use 2 peppers and seeds from one for medium to hot salsa.

SIMPLY THE BEST SALSA

Simply the Best Salsa image

I have tried many variations of making the perfect salsa and this seems to be a great success among friends and family.

Provided by Vicki in CT

Categories     Sauces

Time 10m

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

28 ounces diced tomatoes, I use petite diced
7 3/4 ounces tomato sauce (Mexican Style Hot Sauce, I use El Pato Brand)
1 -2 jalapeno, stem removed and cut coarsely
4 garlic cloves
salt

Steps:

  • Combine 3/4 of the can of tomatoes, tomato sauce, cilantro, jalapeno, and garlic in food processor. Pulse until completely pureed. If you like a milder sauce do not include jalapeno seeds.

  • Pace Salsa Verde. When I spooned a generous helping of the Pace Salsa Verde salsa onto my tortilla chip, I knew it would be love at first bite. And it was.
  • Tostitos Restaurant Style Medium Salsa. As far as traditional red salsas go, Tostitos' Restaurant Style Salsa tastes like something you'd be served at a restaurant.
  • Desert Pepper Peach Mango Salsa. After tasting Desert Pepper's Peach Mango Salsa, I turned to my husband and said, "This is a dessert salsa," and felt just like Jan from Grease.
  • On The Border Medium Salsa. If you, like me, like your salsa super chunky, then get your hands on this jarred salsa from On The Border. It has a thick consistency, with huge chunks of tomato mixed with jalapeños, onions, tomatoes, and garlic in every bite.
  • Nature's Promise Organic Medium Salsa. Take it or leave it; Nature's Promise Organic Medium Salsa is just OK. It comes in a pasta sauce-shaped jar and looks like something you'd pour over noodles or eat with a spoon.
  • Chi Chi's Medium Thick & Chunky Salsa. Chi Chi's salsa tastes strongly of tomato, and that's about it. It's almost like a thick tomato soup that's been loaded with spices—too many spices.
