3 cups Sacramento tomato juice
2 (8-ounce) bottles clam juice, such Bumble Bee
1/2 teaspoon grated lime zest
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (3 to 4 limes)
2 teaspoons wasabi powder
2 teaspoons Tabasco Chipotle Pepper Sauce (see Cook's Note)
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup good vodka, such as Grey Goose
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons Old Bay Seasoning
1 lime wedge, plus 6 lime slices, for garnish
18 large pimento-stuffed olives, such as Sable and Rosenfeld
6 cooked and peeled jumbo shrimp, with tails on

Steps:

  • In a large pitcher, stir together the tomato juice, clam juice, and lime zest. In a small glass measuring cup, whisk together the lime juice and wasabi powder and add to the pitcher. Stir in the Tabasco, Worcestershire, vodka, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper.
  • Spread the Old Bay Seasoning on a small plate. Moisten the rims of six highball glasses by running a lime wedge around the edge of each glass and dip the rims in the Old Bay Seasoning. Set aside to dry.
  • Fill the glasses half full with ice and pour in the Bloody Mary mixture. For each drink, add 2 or 3 olives threaded on a 6-inch skewer, then place one shrimp and one slice of lime on the rim of each glass. Serve cold.

1 1/2 cups tequila blanco
2 cups pickled okra or green beans plus 1/2 cup pickle brine
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon hot sauce
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 teaspoon celery salt
1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup cocktail onions
46 ounces tomato vegetable juice
24 pitted green olives
1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
2 cups grape tomatoes
4 strips cooked bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
8 stalks celery

Steps:

  • Mix the tequila, pickle brine, lime juice, Worcestershire, hot sauce, celery seed, celery salt, horseradish and garlic powder together in a measuring cup or bowl. Add the cocktail onions to the mix and let soak at least 30 minutes and up to overnight.
  • Transfer the infused onions to a bowl with a slotted spoon. Stir together the infused tequila and tomato vegetable juice in a large pitcher. Stuff the olives with the feta cheese.
  • Thread 12-inch skewers with all your favorite fixings: stuffed olives, pickled okra or green beans, grape tomatoes, bacon and cocktail onions. Serve the tequila mixture over ice with a skewer of fixings and the celery.

Over the last few years I have grown to love a good bloody mary. I have found that what I like in a bloody mary is something with a nice spice and a rich "meaty" flavor. I want a bloody mary to be able to substitute as a meal. I think that you'll find this with a good amount of heat that will stick with you.

46 ounces vegetable juice cocktail
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce (Habanero)
1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon celery salt
1/2 teaspoon hickory smoke salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
12 ounces vodka

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients together.
  • Store in a sealed container. I poured it back into the V8 container and pulled the label off.
  • Mix with vodka to your taste and serve over ice.
  • Garnish with celery, limes, olives or other pickled cocktail veggies.

1 pint cherry tomatoes
2 tablespoons hot pepper sauce (e.g. Tabasco(TM)
1 cup peppar vodka
2 tablespoons lemon pepper
2 tablespoons celery salt

Steps:

  • Remove the stems from the tomatoes, and place them in a shallow bowl. Pour vodka over them so that they are covered.
  • Stir in the hot pepper sauce.
  • Cover, and refrigerate overnight.
  • To serve, mix together the lemon pepper and celery salt in a small dish.
  • Serve tomatoes floating in vodka.
  • Provide toothpicks so that your guests may pick up the tomatoes and dip them in the seasoning before eating.
