A deliciously different alternative to your normal garlic bread. The teriyaki does not in any way overwhelm, it gives the toast a wonderfully different taste!

3 sausage type rolls, split
4 tablespoons butter, melted
1 tablespoon teriyaki sauce
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Steps:

  • Mix together melted butter, Teriyaki sauce and garlic powder.
  • Brush onto rolls evenly.
  • Grill until nicely browned.
  • Delicious with grilled meats.

We have a flock of laying hens and usually an abundance of eggs. I'm always trying to find new ways to prepare them. Oh man are they good! It's a unique twist to the more traditional pickled egg recipes out there. These are great on salads, or just as is.

6 eggs
½ cup soy sauce
½ cup water
6 tablespoons white sugar
1 tablespoon dried minced onion
½ teaspoon sesame oil

Steps:

  • Place eggs in a large saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil; remove from heat, cover, and let sit until eggs are cooked through, about 10 minutes. Drain hot water; cover eggs with cold water.
  • Peel eggs and place in a quart-size Mason jar.
  • Combine soy sauce, water, sugar, minced onion, and sesame oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir until sugar is dissolved, 3 to 5 minutes. Cool briefly, about 5 minutes. Pour over eggs in the jar.
  • Refrigerate eggs until flavors are absorbed, at least 6 hours.

Grand Prize winner in a Simple & Delicious contest for crock-pot recipes. . .not my recipe unfortunately, but I had to post it here for safe keeping. They recommend serving it sliced with a side of hot mashed potatoes however I think it's much better atop fluffy white rice!!! This is a fabulous recipe and your end product won't have that "crock pot" flavor!!

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 (3 -4 lb) boneless pork shoulder, trimmed (3 to 4 pounds)
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup unsweetened apple juice (I have used pineapple juice with fabulous results)
1/3 cup soy sauce (may use low sodium)
1 teaspoon fresh ground ginger
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons cornstarch
3 tablespoons cold water

Steps:

  • Cut roast in half; rub with brown sugar. Place in a 5-qt. slow cooker.
  • Mix together apple juice and soy sauce (and garlic and ginger if using) and pour over roast.
  • Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6 to 6-1/2 hours or until meat is tender.
  • Remove roast; cover and let stand for 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, strain cooking juices and return to slow cooker. Increase temp to high.
  • Combine cornstarch and cold water until smooth; gradually stir into juices in slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on high for 15 minutes or until thickened.
  • Slice pork; serve with gravy.

  • Place all teriyaki sauce ingredients together and marinade salmon in it for 10 - 30 minutes. Heat oven to 180c
  • Meanwhile make the peas by adding them to saucepan with butter and a couple tbsp of water. Cook for 3 - 4 minutes on medium heat and crush with potato masher.
  • Heat an ovenproof frying pan on medium heat. Add 1 tbsp olive oil and place salmon (without marinade) into pan. Cook for 3 minutes on one side and flip. Cook for a further minute and add teriyaki sauce mixture
  • Spoon sauce over salmon and place in the oven for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and set aside.
