this is a very easy recipe. good for kids.

1 lb ground beef or turkey
1 c tomato sauce
2 oz shedded cheddar cheese
1 small can sliced black olives
2 tsp chilli powder
2 can(s) crescent rolls
2 Tbsp corn meal
1/2 c chopped onions

Steps:

  • 1. cook and drain meat,stir in tomato sauce, cheese,onion and chilli powder. Separate rolls into 8 rectangles. Press out to make them bigger.
  • 2. sprinkle a little cornmeal on cookie sheet, place one can rolls on cookie sheet and sprinkle a very light dusting on tops with cornmeal.
  • 3. place meat mixture onto each. Cover with another roll, seal cut slit in top of dough. Cook until done at 375 degrees.

1 (8 ounce) can crescent roll dough
1 1/2-2 lbs ground beef
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 (1 ounce) packages old el paso taco seasoning mix
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
0.5 (6 ounce) can water
1 (8 ounce) package shredded monterey jack and cheddar cheese blend
salt and pepper, to taste
2 medium tomatoes, finely diced and seasoned with a little salt and pepper
sour cream

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat a 9x12 inch oblong pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Brown ground beef, then place in a colander to drain fat.
  • In the same pan, cook onions, then add cooked ground beef, taco seasoning mix, garlic powder, tomato paste and water (half of the empty tomato paste can filled with water). Cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally until well combined and sauce is thickened, about 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Place taco beef in a colander to allow any excess sauce to drain (this will keep crust from getting soggy).
  • Place crescent roll dough in prepared pan, and spread out with fingers to touch the sides. Press down on perforated edges to close them.
  • Place drained taco beef on top of dough, then cover with shredded cheese.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until cheese is melted and dough is lightly browned.
  • Cut into squares and top each serving with diced tomatoes and a dollop of sour cream.
  • Makes 6 generous servings.
  • VARIATIONS: If desired, you can use light or fat free sour cream for the garnish. You can also substitute cheese with a package of shredded Mexican or Taco flavored cheese if you want.

1 tube (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent rolls
2 cups crushed corn chips, divided
1-1/2 pounds ground beef
1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
1 envelope taco seasoning
1 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Optional: cubed avocado, chopped tomatoes, shredded lettuce and cilantro

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Unroll crescent dough into a rectangle; press onto the bottom and 1 in. up the sides of a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Seal seams and perforations. Sprinkle with 1 cup of chips; set aside., In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in tomato sauce and taco seasoning; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Spoon over chips. Top with sour cream, cheese and remaining chips. , Bake, uncovered, until crust is lightly browned, 25-30 minutes. Garnish with optional toppings, if desired.

1 Tbsp oil
1/3 c cornmeal
1 c cheddar cheese, shredded
1 c shredded monterey jack cheese
2 c shredded lettuce
1 c chopped tomatoes
salsa
sour cream

Steps:

  • 1. Brown meat and onion, drain. Stir in taco seasoning mix, beans, and tomato paste. Simmer 5 minutes.
  • 2. Unroll dough into 4 rectangles. Place in ungreased 15 x 10 inch jelly roll pan, press over bottom and 1 inch up sides to form crust
  • 3. Brush dough with oil and sprinkle with cornmeal. Spoon hot meat mixture over crust.
  • 4. Bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Sprinkle with cheese. Return to oven for 1-2 minutes until cheese melts.
  • 5. Cut into squares and add toppings of lettuce, tomatoes, salsa, sour cream etc...

1 lb lean ground beef
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
2 (8 ounce) packages crescent roll dough
1 cup sour cream
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup prepared salsa

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef in skillet over medium heat until no pink remains.
  • Drain fat and rinse, if desired.
  • Add taco seasoning and prepare according to package directions (use 1/2 amount of water if using 1/2 pkg. seasoning).
  • Unroll one tube of crescent rolls and place on bottom of 9" x 13" cake pan.
  • Press seams together and spread out to cover bottom of pan.
  • Bake in 375 degrees F oven until rolls just start to brown.
  • Cover dough with hot beef mixture; then spread sour cream over beef using a teaspoon.
  • Sprinkle with cheese and drizzle with salsa.
  • Unroll second tube of crescent rolls and carefully spread out over top, pinching together seams where possible.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until top is golden brown.
  • Let set 10 to 15 minutes, then cut into squares.

Today's recipe was one that I made for the Super Bowl. The great thing about this taco pizza recipe is you can cut it into large squares and serve it as a main dish or cut it into smaller squares and serve it as an appetizer. This was yummy and easy to put together. You can't loose with pizza at my house.

1 lb ground beef
1 pkg taco seasoning mix
2 can(s) (8-oz) pillsbury crescent rolls
1 can(s) (16-oz) refried beans (i used the jalopeno kind)
2-3 c cheddar cheese, shredded (or mexican blend)
1/2 c tomatoes, diced
1/4 c black olives, sliced
4 c green onions, chopped
add whatever other toppings you want

Steps:

  • 1. 1.Heat oven to 375 degrees. 2.Brown ground beef and drain. Add taco seasoning to the ground beef according to the package directions. 3.Unroll crescent rolls into rectangles. Place in ungreased 11 1/2 inch x 16 1/2 inch jelly roll pan or cookie sheet. Press dough over the bottom and 1/2 inch up sides to form crust. Bake at 375 oven for 11 to 13 minutes or just until golden brown. 4.Microwave beans in a microwave safe bowl for 1 minute. Carefully spread beans over warm crust creating a thin layer. 5.Top with cooked beef mixture, sprinkle with cheese followed by tomatoes, black olives and green onion. Return to oven for 3-6 more minutes until cheese is melted. Serve immediately. ENJOY!!

2 (8 ounce) cans refrigerated reduced-fat crescent rolls
1 lb ground chuck or 1 lb ground turkey
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package taco seasoning
2 cups shredded low-fat cheddar cheese
1/2 head lettuce
1 tomatoes
1 green peppers or 1 red pepper
1 (16 ounce) fat free sour cream
1 (8 ounce) jar taco sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375.
  • Brown meat and drain fat.
  • Follow taco mix preparation directions, make sure all water gets absorbed.
  • Add cheese to meat and stir until meat sticks together and cheese is melted.
  • On a 13-inch baking stone or large size pizza pan, arrange rolls with points outside and bases together. It helps to arrange a square with 4 of the rolls, and then arrange the rest of the rolls in a circle around the square with points facing out.
  • Spoon taco mix over rolls, fill in and fold points over taco mix, pinch to seal.
  • Bake for 11-13 minutes. (Longer times may be necessary to ensure rolls are fully cooked.).
  • Serve with lettuce, tomato, peppers, sour cream, taco sauce, or any taco toppings of your choosing.
  • Can be sliced like a pie or cut into squares.
