1 (1 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
1 (16 ounce) can refried beans
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (16 ounce) container sour cream
1 (16 ounce) jar salsa
1 large tomato, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 bunch chopped green onions
1 small head iceberg lettuce, shredded
1 (6 ounce) can sliced black olives, drained
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, blend the taco seasoning mix and refried beans. Spread the mixture onto a large serving platter.
  • Mix the sour cream and cream cheese in a medium bowl. Spread over the refried beans.
  • Top the layers with salsa. Place a layer of tomato, green bell pepper, green onions and lettuce over the salsa, and top with Cheddar cheese. Garnish with black olives.

An easy dip to make ahead of time. It can easily be made low fat if you prefer. The 4 hour cook time shown is actually refrigeration time.

1 can refried beans
1 cup sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
1 package taco seasoning mix
2 cups grated cheese
2 tomatoes, chopped
green onion, chopped,for garnish

Steps:

  • *It'svery easy to make this low fat by substitutung fat free beans, fat free sour cream, fat free miracle whip and no fat or low fat cheese.
  • Mix sour cream, mayonnaise, and taco seasoning.
  • Spread beans in the bottom of a pan.
  • Top with the sour cream mixture.
  • Cover and refrigerate for about 4 hours.
  • Sprinkle with grated cheese.
  • Top with tomatoes, then green onions.
  • Enjoy!

1 (16 ounce) container sour cream
1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
½ cup salsa
½ head iceberg lettuce - rinsed, dried, and chopped
2 tomatoes, chopped
1 onion, chopped
¾ cup chopped black olives
8 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Place the beans in the bottom of one 9x13 inch clear glass dish.
  • In a medium bowl combine the sour cream with the taco seasoning. Spread mixture over the beans. Spread the salsa over the top of the sour cream. Top the sour cream with a layer of lettuce, tomatoes, onions and olives. Sprinkle cheese over the top and serve.

1 (15 ounce) can refried beans
1 (16 ounce) jar salsa or 1 (16 ounce) jar picante sauce
8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup diced onion

Steps:

  • Using a microwave safe bowl, spread re-fried beans along the bottom.
  • Smooth evenly.
  • Layer half of the salsa on top, then the cheese, then the onions.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and microwave for 2-3 minutes until cheese is completely melted.
  • Transfer to a chafing dish or slow cooker to keep warm while serving.
  • Serve with tortilla chips, the rest of the salsa, and sour cream.

1 (1 1/4 ounce) package taco seasoning
0.5 (12 ounce) bottle taco sauce (hot or mild, your choice)
1/2 pint sour cream
1 lb grated cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Brown and drain hamburger.
  • Mix beans and taco seasoning with hamburger.
  • Spread in the bottom of a 9x9-inch pan.
  • Mix taco sauce and sour cream; spread over the hamburger mixture.
  • Top with grated cheese.
  • Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.

1 lb lean ground beef (85%)
1 (1 ounce) packet taco seasoning
2 teaspoons minced garlic
2 (10 ounce) cans ro-tel diced tomatoes and green chilies
2 (15 ounce) cans black beans, rinsed
2 cups shredded monterey jack cheese
2 scallions, sliced thin

Steps:

  • Microwave ground beef, taco seasoning, and garlic in bowl, stirring occasionally, until beef is no longer pink, about 5 minutes.
  • Break up any large pieces of beef with spoon, then drain off fat.
  • Drain tomatoes, reserving ¼ cup juice.
  • Using potato masher, mash half of beans with reserved tomato juice in large bowl until mostly smooth.
  • Stir in beef mixture, remaining beans, tomatoes and 1 ½ c Monterey Jack cheese until well combined.
  • 1 ½ -5 quart slow cooker: Transfer mixture to slow cooker, cover, and cook until heated through, 1-2 hours on LOW.
  • Stir dip to recombine and sprinkle with remaining ½ cup cheese.
  • Cover and continue to cook on LOW until cheese is melted, about 5 minutes.
  • Sprinkle dip with scallions and serve; dip can be held on WARM or LOW setting for up to 2 hours.

1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chile peppers
1 small onion, diced
2 (16 ounce) cans vegetarian baked beans
1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
1 (16 ounce) jar salsa
1 (8 ounce) package shredded Cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the green chile peppers and onion, and cook until tender.
  • Place baked beans in the saucepan. Stirring often, cook 10 minutes, or until beans are a smooth, mashed mixture.
  • Mix in taco seasoning mix and salsa. Transfer to a medium serving bowl. Top with Cheddar cheese. Microwave on high 1 to 2 minutes, if necessary, to melt the cheese. Serve warm.

1 (30 ounce) can refried beans
3 ripe avocados
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon good quality garlic salt
3 -4 drops Tabasco sauce
1 1/4 cups sour cream
1/2 cup mayonnaise, plus
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package taco seasoning mix (or use my homemade taco seasoning mix)
10 -12 green onions, chopped
3 large tomatoes, chopped
2 -3 cups black olives, sliced
2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
corn chips or tortilla chips

Steps:

  • In a large serving bowl, spread the refried beans.
  • Peel and pit and mash the avocados.
  • Mix together the fresh lemon juice, garlic salt and tabasco.
  • Mix with the mashed avocados to combine well, and spread over/on top the beans.
  • In a bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise and taco seasoing mix, spread over the avocado layer.
  • Sprinkle with green onions, chopped tomatoes, olives and cheddar cheese.
  • Serve with tortilla and/or corn chips.

Curly endive or leaf lettuce
1 small sweet red pepper
Toothpicks
1 cherry or grape tomato
1 hard-boiled large egg, halved
2 pitted ripe olives
Celery leaves

  • In a food processor, process beans until smooth. In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese, sour cream and taco seasoning until blended. Beat in beans. Cover and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes., Cut the top fourth off the loaf of bread; carefully hollow out bottom, leaving a 1-1/2-in. shell. Cube removed bread; set aside. Place bread bowl on an endive-lined plate., Cut red pepper into two rings for ears and a thick slice for mouth; attach to bread bowl, using toothpicks. Attach tomato for nose.
