I love sweet potatos, but I don't like they way most people sweeten them even more. This is a little sweet and a little savory. I tasted something like this at a restaurant and by trial and error came up with my own version.

Number Of Ingredients 6

Ingredients

1 tablespoon Kosher salt
1 tablespoon medium grind black pepper
sugar, to taste
1/4 teaspoon granulated garlic
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon apple pie spice

Steps:

Place all ingredients in a glass spice jar with a shaker lid.Shake until well combined.Shelf stable.Use on baked sweet potatos, fries, chips.Can be used in a sweet potato casserole, only skip the marshmallows.

Ingredients

2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons packed brown sugar
1 ½ tablespoons paprika
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon poultry seasoning
½ teaspoon chili powder
1 pinch cayenne pepper

Steps:

Preheat an oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
Place the sweet potato chunks into a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with the olive oil, then sprinkle the brown sugar, paprika, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, poultry seasoning, chili powder, and cayenne pepper overtop. Toss until the potatoes are evenly coated with the seasoning. Spread onto a baking sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, then turn the potatoes over with a spatula, and continue baking until the sweet potatoes are golden and tender, 10 to 15 minutes more.

A great way to serve sweet potatoes! The spices balances out the natural sweetness of the potato. Serve with Southwestern Turkey Burger.

Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs sweet potatoes
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic, chopped
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon cumin

Steps:

Preheat oven to 450.
Scrub the potatoes if leaving the skins on or peel. Cut sweet potato into wedges (about 8 wedges per potato).
Place potatoes in gallon ziploc bag or large bowl and add remaining ingredients.
Coat potatoes evenly with oil and spices. Place in single layer on baking sheet.
Bake for 15 minutes. Turn over and bake another 10-15 minutes.
Serve with mayo or ketchup for dipping.
