1 (1-pound) bag frozen edamame, in the pod (green soy beans)

Steps:

  • Heat the salt, chili powder, and pepper flakes in a small dry skillet over medium heat, stirring until hot and aromatic, about 3 minutes. Remove from the heat and crumble in the oregano.
  • Boil the edamame pods in salted water until tender, about 8 minutes. Drain in a colander and pat dry. Toss the edamame pods with the chili-salt and serve warm.

1 cup edamame (with shells and frozen)
1 tsp vegetable oil (/sesame oil/canola oil)
1 tbsp garlic (minced)
1 tbsp chili garlic sauce (Asian)
1 tsp sesame seeds

Steps:

  • In a pan add water and bring it to boil.
  • Add edamame and cook for about 2 minutes or it cooked completely.
  • Strain and discard the water.
  • In the same pan, add the vegetable oil and the minced garlic.
  • Saute until the garlic changes its color slightly.
  • Add chili garlic sauce, sesame seeds, and the steamed edamame.
  • Toss well and serve immediately.

2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons sesame oil
1 tablespoon sweet Thai chile sauce
1 teaspoon sriracha sauce
salt and ground black pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • Microwave edamame in a microwave-safe dish until heated through, about 3 minutes.
  • Whisk soy sauce, sesame oil, sweet Thai chile sauce, and sriracha sauce together in a bowl and season with salt and ground black pepper. Add edamame to chile mixture and toss to coat.

Sweet and Spicy Soy Glazed Edamame image

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 cups frozen edamame in their shell
1 teaspoon canola oil
1/2 teaspoon garlic, finely minced (about 1 clove)
1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, skin removed, finely minced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Steps:

  • Cook the edamame according to package directions.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, water, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes.
  • Heat canola oil in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Once heated, add the garlic and ginger. Let cook for one to two minutes, stirring to avoid garlic from burning.
  • Add in the soy sauce mixture and raise the heat to medium. Let cook, stirring frequently, until the sauce reduces to a glaze, about 5-7 minutes. Once you reach the desired glaze consistency, add in the cooked edamame and toss well.
  • Use tongs to plate edamame. Pour any glaze left in the saucepan into a small dipping bowl alongside the edamame. Devour immediately.
  • *I've made this without rice vinegar when I looked in the pantry and we didn't have any. It still came out great.
  • **If you have a micrograter, you can grate the garlic and ginger if you want. That way it it dissolves into the glaze instead of having little finely minced chunks. If you try it this way, only cook the ginger and garlic for about 30 seconds. I've done it both ways. Totally your call, just wanted to give you the option ????

1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 1/2 teaspoons soy sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons dry sherry
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup wine vinegar
1/3 cup vegetable stock
2 tablespoons salad oil
1 1/2 cups chopped onions (1 large onion)
2 large sliced carrots, cut 1/4" slice
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 red or green pepper, seeded and cut into 1" squares (bell pepper - can also use yellow or orange)
3/4 cup pineapple chunk (canned are fine)
2 fresh tomatoes, chopped
2 1/2 cups shelled edamame soybeans (frozen are fine)

Steps:

  • Put together the Sweet-Sour Sauce: in a bowl combine cornstarch, soy sauce, dry sherry, brown sugar, wine vinegar, and vegetable stock.
  • In a large saute pan over medium heat, saute the onions, carrots and garlic in the oil, and cook stirring for about 5 minutes or until vegetables are crisp-tender.
  • Add green (or red or yellow or orange bell) pepper and tomatoes and cook for 3 minutes.
  • Add pineapple and edamame and cook for 2 minutes or until hot.
  • Re-stir the sweet-sour sauce, pour into pan, and continue to cook, stirring, until sauce bubbles and thickens.
  • Serve and enjoy!

  • Saute ham and onion in hot oil in a nonstick skillet over med-high heat 6-8 minutes or until onion is tender and ham is lightly browned.
  • Stir in sweet potatoes, and saute 5 minutes.
  • Add in garlic; saute 1 minute.
  • Stir in edamame and next 3 ingredients.
  • Decrease heat to medium; cover and cook, stirring occasionally, 10-12 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
  • Stir in salt and pepper.

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes, or to taste

Steps:

  • Heat a saute pan over high heat. Add edamame, sesame oil, vinegar, oyster sauce, sriracha sauce, and sesame seeds. Cook, stirring frequently, until sauce coats all pods evenly, 3 to 5 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes before serving.

1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 small garlic clove, finely chopped
1/2 to 1 teaspoon Japanese rayu (or chili oil), to taste
1/2 teaspoon Japanese shichimi togarashi (7-spice chili pepper), to taste
1 1/2 teaspoons Kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes, for garnish

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Cook frozen edamame (in their shells) in boiling water for 5 minutes.
  • Rinse quickly with cold water. Drain completely. Set aside, and allow edamame to dry off slightly. Use a paper towel if necessary to remove excess water.
  • In a large pan, heat sesame oil and chopped garlic over medium heat until fragrant.
  • Add Japanese rayu (chili oil) and cooked edamame (in their shells). Quickly stir-fry, then turn off heat.
  • Add shichimi togarashi (7-spice chili peppers) and salt. Gently toss.
  • Serve spicy edamame on a platter and garnish with red chili pepper flakes.
