1 large Savoy cabbage , thinly sliced
1 tbsp olive oil
2 garlic cloves , thinly sliced
1 tsp fennel or caraway seeds

Steps:

  • Steam or boil the cabbage for 3-4 mins until just tender, then drain well. If doing ahead of time, cool under running water and chill until ready to stir-fry.
  • Heat the oil in a wok or large frying pan. Add the garlic and seeds and cook for 1 min until beginning to turn golden. Toss in the cabbage and stir-fry over the highest heat for 3-4 mins. Season with a little sea salt and serve.

1 TBS EACH: Unsalted Butter & Neutral Oil ((Peanut, Vegetable or Grapeseed))
2-3 Cloves Garlic (- peeled & finely diced)
2 teaspoons Fresh Ginger (- grated (or 1 teaspoon Ginger Powder))
1 small Head Cabbage (- thinly sliced (about 2 pounds) (SEE NOTES))
1 small Yellow Onion (- thinly sliced)
2 large Carrots (- peeled & shredded)
3 large Scallions (- sliced; white/light green part and dark parts separated)
Kosher Salt & Pepper
2 TBS Reduced Sodium Soy Sauce
1 TBS EACH: Honey & Rice Vinegar
1 ½ tsp Mirin
¼ tsp Toasted Sesame Oil
1/8 - ¼ tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes - or more to taste

Steps:

  • Make the sauce: In a small bowl or liquid measuring cup, combine all the ingredients from the sauce list. Whisk well to thoroughly combine. Set aside.
  • Stir-fry onions & aromatics: In a large sauté pan over medium-high heat, melt the butter with the oil. Add the onion and stir-fry until almost softened, about 3 minutes. Add the garlic and ginger to the pan along with the white/light green parts of the scallions. Cook, stirring, until fragrant about 1 minute.
  • Add cabbage & carrots: Increase the heat to high and immediately add the cabbage and carrots to the pan and stir well. Let the cabbage cook for 1 minute undisturbed (you want the cabbage to slightly char). Stir and toss the mixture well and then allow to cook undisturbed for another 1 minute. Toss rapidly and continue to cook, stir-frying, for 1 minute.
  • Add sauce: Add the sauce to the pan and toss well so everything is coated. Cook until the cabbage is just tender and softened, about 1 minute.
  • Taste: Remove from heat and stir in the dark green parts of the scallions. Taste and adjust for seasoning with salt, pepper, fresh lime juice and/or sriracha. Transfer to a serving plate.
  • Serve: Top with optional garnishes and serve hot. Enjoy!

Ground black pepper - ½ teaspoon
Salt - As you need
Grated coconut - 5 tablespoons
Cooking oil - 3 tablespoons

Steps:

  • Chop the cabbage.
  • Take mustard seeds, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, ground black pepper, and salt.
  • Rinse the chopped cabbage well enough and drain the water thoroughly. Now, add turmeric powder and mix it up well.
  • Slice the onions, green chilies, and curry leaves.
  • Get ready with the grated coconut.
  • Now heat the oil. Add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
  • Add sliced onions, green chilies, and curry leaves. Fry them until the onions start to turn a golden color. Stir frequently to avoid burning.
  • Add fennel seeds and cumin seeds. Stir and fry for 30 to 45 seconds.
  • Now add the chopped cabbage and salt. Stir regularly and cook under medium flame until the cabbage turns to a light golden color. For me, it takes about 7 minutes.
  • Add grated coconut and mix them until all combined well under low flame for 1 or 2 minutes.
  • Finally, add the ground black pepper and give one last good mix.
  • Taste the stir fry and add salt if needed.

6 bacon (slices, chopped)
1 onion (large, diced)
2 garlic (cloves, minced)
1 cabbage (head, sliced)
1 tbsp paprika
1/2 tsp cayenne
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Cook the bacon in a heavy bottomed skillet over medium heat until it starts to become crisp and most of the fat is rendered. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon to a paper towel lined plate to dry, and remove all but about 2 tbsp of the bacon grease from the pan.
  • Add the onion, cook for about a minute or two, then add the garlic and continue to cook until the onion is softened - about 5 - 6 minutes.
  • Increase the heat a bit, add begin to add the cabbage, stirring well to combine. You might not be able to fit all the cabbage in at once, so continue to stir, and as the cabbage cooks and wilts add more until it is all in the pan
  • Add the paprika, cayenne, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce, stir well to combine, then add the cooked bacon.
  • Continue to cook and stir for about 15 mins more, or until the cabbage is cooked and tender.
