WEANING RECIPE: BABY PORRIDGE
Make this porridge as a first weaning food for your baby. With banana, carrots and peanut butter, it's tasty and will give your child new flavours to try

Steps:
- To make baby porridge place 100g porridge oats in a food processor and blend.
- Add 3 parts milk to 1 part porridge and gently heat. So for 100g oats use 300ml milk
- Whilst the porridge heats for 5 minutes, mash the banana with a fork and peel and finely grate a carrot.
- Remove the porridge from the heat and stir in the mashed banana, grated carrot, chia seeds, cinnamon and peanut butter.
- Mix well and serve a portion to baby once cooled. The rest of the porridge will keep for up to 5 days in the fridge.

- Place the oats in a food processor and blitz until they become fine, almost a flour consistency. Store in an airtight glass jar or plastic container.
- To make the porridge or oatmeal use 1 part oats to 2 parts milk and heat gently in a saucepan for 3-4 minutes, stirring regularly.
- To make flavoured porridge add grated apple, mashed banana, desiccated coconut, etc to the oats while cooking.

- I prep my rolled oats for making baby porridge in bulk. I blitz approximately 1 cup of oats in my food processor until fine and store it in an airtight container in the pantry. (This makes around 20 small servings)
- To make 1 small serving, Take 1 tbsp of the baby porridge oats, and mix with 3 Tbsp of milk in a microwave-proof bowl
- Microwave on high for 20 seconds, stir, microwave for a further 20 seconds and stir, allow to cool before serving
