Categories     Beef Dishes     Dinner Recipes     Main Course

Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 lb flank steak ((or top sirloin - thinly sliced, against the grain))
1/2 Tbsp corn starch
1 Tbsp olive oil ((extra virgin))
1 Tbsp garlic ((finely minced or crushed))
8 oz mushrooms ((sliced - white button mushrooms, cremini or shiitake))
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1 Tbsp soy sauce
2 green onions ((sliced, optional, garnish))
sesame seeds ((optional, garnish))

Steps:

  • Place thinly sliced beef in a large bowl, then sprinkle the cornstarch over the beef. Toss the beef until lightly coated with the cornstarch, set aside.
  • Heat a wok, large skillet, or non-stick frying pan over medium high heat with the olive oil. Once the oil begins to shimmer, add the garlic and mushrooms. Stir frequently and cook until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Add the thinly sliced beef and continue to cook over medium high heat until the beef is about half way cooked. Add the soy sauce and sprinkle garlic powder and black pepper over the cooking beef. Stir to coat and continue to cook until the meat is completely browned.
  • Remove from heat and serve immediately. Serve over rice or fried noodles, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

GRILLED PRIME RIBS OF BEEF WITH GARLIC AND ROSEMARY

Grilled Prime Ribs of Beef With Garlic and Rosemary image

Make and share this Grilled Prime Ribs of Beef With Garlic and Rosemary recipe from Food.com.

Provided by ratherbeswimmin

Time 4h30m

Yield 12-16 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 (16 -18 lb) prime rib roast, tied at 2 inch intervals (7 ribs, 16-18 pounds)
6 garlic cloves, each clove cut lengthwise into 4 pieces
4 -6 sprigs fresh rosemary
2 tablespoons black peppercorns
2 tablespoons dried rosemary
2 tablespoons coarse salt
2 tablespoons sweet paprika

Steps:

  • Set up grill for indirect grilling and place a large drip pan in the center; preheat to medium.
  • Using the tip of a slender paring knife, make a series of ½ inch deep holes in the roast, mostly in the sheath of fat on top, but also on the sides and bottom.
  • The holes should be at least 2 inches apart.
  • Insert slivers of garlic in half the holes; strip the leaves off 1 or 2 of the rosemary sprigs and insert them in the remaining holes.
  • Slide the remaining rosemary sprigs under the string used to tie up the roast.
  • Make the rub: grind the peppercorns and dried rosemary to a fine powder in a spice mill or blender.
  • Add the salt and paprika and grind to mix; rub this mixture all over the roast, especially over the sheath of fat on top.
  • When ready to cook, oil the grill grate; place the roast, fat side up, on the hot grate over the grill pan and cover the grill.
  • Grill the roast until cooked to taste, 3 ½ to 4 hours for medium-rare for a roast this size (figure 12 to 14 minutes per pound); if using a gas grill, keep the cover closed at all times.
  • Use an instant read thermometer to test doneness-you will want to cook the roast to 145° for medium-rare, 160° for medium.
  • Transfer roast to a platter or carving board and cover loosely with foil.
  • Let roast rest for 10-15 minutes before carving; easiest way to carve is to cut it into rib.
  • sections with a long, slender knife, then into thin slices to serve.

SPICY GARLIC BEEF STIR FRY

Spicy Garlic Beef Stir Fry image

This stir fry is delicious with tender strips of beef, sweet fresh veggies and a spicy beef sauce. I like to marinate my stir fry meat before cooking to add an extra layer of flavor. I like to use Dale's Liquid Steak Seasoning, but it can be difficult to find. If you can't find this product, substitute 1 1/2 tbs. soy sauce plus 1 tbs. Worcestershire Sauce. It's not the same but close enough. The heat level of this dish is just right for me, but you may adjust the amount of cayenne pepper per your taste.

Time 50m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 17

1 lb sirloin steak, sliced into thin strips (1/4-inch)
2 tablespoons dale's liquid steak seasoning (low sodium)
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon ginger, ground
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 beef bouillon cube
1/2 cup water, boiling
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 cups snow peas, trimmed
1 cup red bell pepper, sliced into thin strips
1 cup asparagus, sliced into 2-inch lengths
1 garlic clove, minced
1 onion, sliced thin (medium-sized)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
2 cups white rice (I use quick-cooking)

Steps:

  • In a small mixing bowl, dissolve beef bouillon cube in boiling water. Set aside to cool.
  • Place beef and steak seasoning in a plastic resealable bag. Seal bag, releasing as much air as possible, and toss/squeeze with hands until well coated. Marinate for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  • Once beef bouillon mixture has cooled, whisk in soy sauce, garlic powder, ginger, cayenne pepper and cornstarch. Set aside.
  • In a wok, heat 1 tbs. oil until glistening. Brown beef strips on both sides, leaving a slight tinge of pink in the middle. Remove to another dish, cover and set aside.
  • Add remaining 1 tbs. oil to wok. Add vegetables and black pepper and cook until crisp-tender. Once vegetables are cooked, return beef to wok and toss to combine.
  • Make a well in the center of the wok and add sauce mixture, stirring constantly until slightly thickened. Then toss all together.
  • Serve immediately over rice.

  • Heat 3/4 cup oil and rosemary in a small saucepan over medium heat until oil begins to bubble and an instant-read thermometer registers 140°, about 2 minutes. Let steep at room temperature for at least 2 hours or cover and chill overnight (the longer it steeps, the more flavorful it will be). Strain oil; discard rosemary. Set rosemary oil aside.
  • Rub steaks with 1 Tbsp. olive oil; season generously with kosher salt and pepper. Heat 2 Tbsp. oil in a large heavy skillet over high heat until it begins to shimmer. Quickly sear steaks on all sides and transfer to a cutting board (they will still be quite rare; you’ll finish cooking them shortly). Let rest for 10 minutes. Clean and dry skillet.
  • Cook remaining 4 Tbsp. oil and garlic in skillet over medium heat, turning occasionally, until garlic is dark brown but not burnt, 3–4 minutes. Remove pan from heat; discard garlic. Transfer 2 Tbsp. garlic oil to a small bowl; reserve.
  • Cut steaks against the grain into 1/3-inch-thick slices. Heat remaining garlic oil in skillet over medium heat until it shimmers. Add half of sliced steak to skillet and cook, turning once, until cooked to desired doneness, 1–2 minutes for medium-rare. Add 1 Tbsp. rosemary oil; toss. Transfer steak and oil to a platter. Repeat with reserved garlic oil, steak, and 1 Tbsp. rosemary oil.
