AMT 22LR LIGHTNING: DO YOU HAVE ONE? | THE HIGH ROAD
Feb 19, 2005 Oh yes, at the time it came out, Ruger didn't have any stainless guns except the 1 in 5,000 model that cost an arm and a leg. I think Ruger threatened to take AMT to court shortly after the pistol was introduced. Ruger and AMT apparently reached an agreement and the AMT vanished. So does anyone else have one of these pistols? From bing.com
CAN THE AR FIRING PIN RETAINING PIN BE REPLACED WITH A REGULAR ...
Jun 3, 2008 Stainless steel parts also have to be painted since parkerizing is a no-no with high chrome steels. In addition, high end knives, drill bits, and saw blades, made from high carbon steel go through a more rigorous heat treatment process than stainless steels (differentially tempered, case hardened, etc) do. Oct 7, 2011 Why, yes, I am partial to the look of a stainless steel double-action revolver with a four-inch barrel... (Ruger GP100 .357 Magnum, Ruger SP101 .22LR, Smith & Wesson Model 64-5 .38 Special) From bing.com
Dec 5, 2018 However, as an AR builder with literally hundreds of AR’s under my belt, between carbon and stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium blocks, I’ve never witnessed gas leaking as the block heated faster than the barrel. Why? Dunno. Doesn’t really matter - hundreds of data points prove the case. From bing.com
WE REALLY NEED STAINLESS 1860 ARMY CLONES | THE HIGH ROAD
Jul 2, 2006 Hey Ya'll Remmie shooters have it good. Both Pietta and Uberti make stainless steel versions of the 1858 Remmington. Uberti even has a handy 5 1/2 inch barrel version. Us Colt shooters need a 1860 clone in easy-to-clean stainless steel !I know Pietta offers a gaudy un-historical "sherrif's... From bing.com
Jan 29, 2008 These days, the only difference between stainless and blued guns is your personal preference. By the time the major gun makers started using stainless steel, the galling problem was solved. On the new S&W PP series pistols, the bluing does not appear to be the brighter polish as on the European and Interarms guns. For a personal defense gun carried in close body contact, I'd go stainless ... From bing.com
CAN YOU MAKE A COLT NAVY 51 STAINLESS? | THE HIGH ROAD
Jul 27, 2008 If you can find a Stainless Colt 1851 Navy, why not buy it? The price you might be spending on the new London model, and having the bluing removed and polished etc, would probably come close to the purchase price of the Stainless Colt. You will still have to problems with rust and such on the London model. From bing.com
May 14, 2025 Here’s an example of stainless wearing out. Two normal size or close, one wearing down to almost wire gauge, and a piece of brass bristle from an old brush to show relative thickness. Smiley face accidental. From bing.com
Dec 27, 2024 The stainless and black DLC models don’t suffer in the looks department, IMO. Nevertheless, the sample I handled was very well made and honestly I could find little to recommend against it. I’ve seen some griping online about the blending of the thumb safety to the frame but I didn’t notice that in the one I handled. From bing.com
