Number Of Ingredients 8

1 large head of broccoli (cut into bite size pieces, about 6 cups worth)
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 tablespoon honey
1-2 teaspoons sriracha (adjust to your preference)
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons sliced almonds
1 green onion (thinly sliced, about 2 tablespoons)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Line a baking sheet with a slipat mat or foil. In a small bowl or measuring cup, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, sriracha and pepper. Pour this mixture over the broccoli and toss well to coat.
  • Spread the broccoli across the lined baking sheet. Place on the middle oven rack and roast for 8-12 minutes, until the broccoli is tender and the edges are turning brown.
  • Remove the broccoli from the oven and transfer to a bowl. Toss with the green onions and the almonds and serve hot. Enjoy!

1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon honey
1 -2 teaspoon sriracha sauce (adjust to your heat preference)
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
2 tablespoons sliced almonds (TOASTED)
1 green onion (thinly sliced, about 2 tablespoons)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
  • Line a baking sheet with a slipat mat, foil, or parchment paper.
  • Place broccoli pieces into a large bowl.
  • In a small bowl, or measuring cup, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, olive oil, honey, sriracha and pepper.
  • Pour this mixture over the broccoli and toss well to coat.
  • Spread the broccoli across the lined baking sheet. Place on the middle oven rack and roast for 8-12 minutes, until the broccoli is tender and the edges are turning brown.

Spicy broccoli! Tossing the hot, cooked broccoli with the sauce will lightly cook the garlic and make it mellow, while bringing out the spiciness of the Sriracha. I have discovered that I love the leftovers cold out of the fridge as a snack! Maybe I'm weird :)

16 ounces broccoli florets
1 tablespoon canola oil or 1 tablespoon light olive oil
1 garlic clove, finely minced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt (to taste)
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Steam broccoli to crisp-tender, about 8 minutes.
  • While broccoli is steaming, mix remaining ingredients in a serving bowl.
  • Add hot cooked broccoli to Sriracha mixture and stir to coat broccoli with sauce.
  • Enjoy!

There's a fairly similar recipe on here for roasted broccoli, but there's no temperature set, and that's KEY! Also, I like the broccoli to stand on its own--no need for pignoli, aka pine nuts! I, myself, have always loved broccoli, but this method of cooking is BY FAR the best.

2 stalks broccoli
4 garlic cloves, sliced lengthwise
olive oil (to coat)
sea salt (to taste)
fresh ground pepper (to taste)
1 lemon, juice of
freshly grated parmesan cheese (to taste)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450º.
  • Cut stalks into florets. I find that small florets pick up a very crispy, delicious flavor! Throw in sliced garlic.
  • Toss with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  • Roast in the oven for twenty minutes. Check to see if crisp-tender, as well as crisp enough for you. (I roast at least 27 minutes!).
  • When satisfactorily roasted, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the broccoli, then top with the freshly grated parmesan cheese.
