Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 pound penne rigate (penne pasta with ridges)
1/4 cup olive oil
3 cloves garlic, chopped
One 26.42-ounce container chopped tomatoes, such as Pomi
1/2 teaspoon red chile flakes
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
6 leaves fresh basil, chopped, plus more for garnish
Block of Parmigiano-Reggiano, for garnish

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add kosher salt to the boiling water, then add the pasta. Cook according to the package instructions, about 9 minutes.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil and heat until the oil starts to shimmer. Add the garlic and cook, stirring, until fragrant, 1 to 2 minutes. Add the chopped tomatoes, red chile flakes, Italian seasoning and salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and add the chopped basil.
  • Drain the pasta and add it to the sauce. Garnish with Parmigiano-Reggiano flakes and more basil and serve warm.

1 Lb. spaghetti
14OZ. tomatoes, crushed
1OZ. onion, chopped
black olives
capers, rinsed
chili pepper
basil
extra-virgin olive oil
salt

Steps:

  • Bring water to a boil in a 6 qt. pot. Season with salt. Add the spaghetti.
  • Meanwhile, heat 3 Tbsp. olive oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the onion, a whole chili pepper, a dozen olives, and 1 Tbsp. capers and sauté 3 minutes.
  • Add the tomatoes and cook for around 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Drain the spaghetti when cooked to al dente and toss quickly in the saucepan. Transfer to a bowl and serve garnished with fresh basil.

1/2 cup KRAFT Zesty Italian Dressing, divided
1/2 lb. hot Italian sausage links, diagonally sliced
1 onion, chopped
1 can (14 oz.) artichoke hearts, drained, chopped
1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper
1/2 lb. spaghetti, uncooked
4 plum tomatoes, chopped
1 cup fat-free reduced-sodium chicken broth
1 lb. uncooked deveined peeled medium shrimp
1/2 cup KRAFT Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
1 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • Heat 1 Tbsp. dressing in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add sausage and onions; cook 10 min. or until sausage is evenly browned, stirring occasionally. Add artichokes, pepper and remaining dressing; mix well. Bring to boil; simmer on low heat 7 to 10 min. or until sausage is done, stirring frequently. Meanwhile, cook spaghetti as directed on package, omitting salt.
  • Add shrimp, tomatoes and broth to sausage mixture; stir. Cover; simmer 5 to 8 min. or until shrimp turn pink and vegetables are heated through.
  • Drain spaghetti. Add to sausage mixture; toss to evenly coat. Top with cheese and parsley.

2 small garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
1 x 400g can chopped tomatoes

Steps:

  • Pour the oil into a saucepan and fry the garlic over a medium heat for 1-2 mins until fragrant, but not browned. Add the chilli, fry for another minute, then add the tomatoes along with 1 tsp salt and ½ tsp sugar. Stir well to combine the ingredients and simmer gently for 20 mins, stirring regularly. The sauce will thicken slowly as it cooks.
  • Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed. Serve stirred through pasta, or blend it first to create a smoother sauce if you prefer. Will keep chilled for up to five days.

½ pound Italian sausage
4 (6.5 ounce) cans tomato sauce
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
2 bay leaves
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
salt and pepper to taste
1 (8 ounce) package spaghetti

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, brown sausage over medium heat; drain and set aside.
  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, bay leaves, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, basil, oregano, salt, pepper and Italian sausage; mix well.
  • Simmer over medium-low heat for at least one hour; it is best if simmered all day.
  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  • Mix sauce with hot pasta; serve.
