FAVORITE BLACKENED RUB

Favorite Blackened Rub image

I took a rub recipe on here and tweaked it for a while until it it came out how I liked. My goal was to make a rub that I could generously apply to chicken, salmon, or steak that had great flavor and that was not too salty or spicy. This is our standby now and our favorite way to use is is to pat it on both sides of a salmon filet and then cook the salmon on the grill.

NORTH AFRICAN MEAT RUB

North African Meat Rub image

Moroccan and Tunesian flavors in this rub. Use on poultry, lamb, beef or pork, two to three hours at room temperature before grilling is the normal way of using this paste. It has strong spicy flavors and I prefer to use it mixed with yogurt or buttermilk, for marinating or basting. If you have roasted garlic paste use that instead of the garlic cloves, use 1 tablespoon. The original recipe used three tablespoons of salt, too salty for our tastes but feel free to add more salt or even reduce it to less. This will keep in the fridge for up to six months.

CARIBBEAN CHILE SPICE RUB

Caribbean Chile Spice Rub image

This all purpose seasoning can be used as a rub on meat, fish, or poultry, sprinkled on potatoes and vegetables, or combined with sour cream or yogurt as a spicy salad dressing. It adds a taste of the Caribbean to any dish. As with any of my recipes calling for any type of chile pepper, feel free to substitute. BAYOU'S BODACIOUS PORK RUB

Bayou's Bodacious Pork Rub image

This perfectly seasoned dry rub is perfect for smoking pork butts, ribs, and beef briskets. It gets a little kick from just the right amount of cayenne pepper, plus the unique flavor of sassafras. The brown sugar creates a nice crunchy 'bark' on the outside of the meat.

SAVORY MEAT RUB

Savory Meat Rub image

I wanted a tenderizing meat rub that didn't have sugar or chili powder in the ingredients. I couldn't find any, so I came up with this recipe. This rub tastes great on any meat especially turkey, ribs, and pork tenderloin. I've been told that it tastes like one of Famous Dave's meat seasonings.

HOW TO MAKE A SPICE RUB | BBC GOOD FOOD
1) Apply the rub several hours or days before cooking. This way, it becomes more of a marinade, and really penetrates the food. This method will give you deep layers of flavour and tenderise cuts of meat, so it’s great for large pieces of meat and poultry. But, this method doesn’t work with delicate fish or veg.
