PARMESAN HERB LOAF
This moist loaf is one of my very best quick bread recipes. I like to serve slices accompanied by individual ramekins filled with extra virgin olive oil infused with herbs for dipping. -Dianne Culley, Nesbit, Mississippi

Steps:
- In a small bowl, combine the flour, 3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, sugar, onion, 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In another bowl, whisk the sour cream, milk and butter. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened., Turn onto a floured surface; knead for 1 minute. Shape into a round loaf; place on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray. With kitchen scissors, cut a 1/4-in.-deep cross in top of loaf. Brush with egg white. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and Italian seasoning., Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.

GARLIC HERB BUBBLE LOAF
I adapted an old sour cream bread recipe for this deliciously different pull-apart loaf that smells heavenly while baking. It has a light crust, tender interior and lots of herb and butter flavor. We think it's wonderful with a hot bowl of potato soup. -Katie Crill, Priest River, Idaho

- In bread machine pan, place the first 7 ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. Select dough setting (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1-2 tablespoons of water or flour if needed). , When cycle is completed, turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Cover and let rest for 15 minutes. Divide dough into 36 pieces. Shape each piece into a ball. In a shallow bowl, combine butter, garlic and herbs. Dip each ball in mixture; place in an ungreased 9x5-in. loaf pan. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 45 minutes., Bake at 375° for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown (cover loosely with foil if bread browns too quickly). Remove from pan to a wire rack. Serve warm.

- In a large bowl, combine 2 cups flour, sugar, yeast, salt, celery seed, dill seed and onion. In a small saucepan, heat the sour cream, water and 3 tablespoons butter to 120°-130°. Add to dry ingredients; beat just until moistened. Add egg; beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a firm dough. , Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 70 minutes., Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; shape into a round loaf. Place in a greased 2-qt. round baking dish. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 40 minutes. , Bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown. Melt remaining butter; brush over bread. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Remove from pan to a wire rack to cool.

SOUR CREAM & FRESH HERB DIP
A delicious combination of fresh herbs and sour cream for your chips or veggies. You can even make this for over your baked potato. I made this all last summer for company and family while the fresh herbs were growing. It tastes better over time. Herbs must be fresh except cumin for this enjoyable dip.

- In a large skillet, saute onion in butter until tender. In bread machine pan, place the water, sour cream, onion mixture, 2 tablespoons sugar, 1-1/2 teaspoons salt, herbs, garlic, flour and yeast in order suggested by manufacturer. Select dough setting (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water or flour if needed)., When cycle is completed, turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Shape into 9 balls. Push thumb through centers to form a 1-1/2-in. hole. Place on parchment-lined baking sheets. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes, then refrigerate overnight., Let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes; flatten bagels slightly. In a non-aluminum Dutch oven, bring water to a boil with remaining sugar and salt. Drop bagels, 1 at a time, into water. Cook for 30 seconds; turn and cook 30 seconds longer. Remove with a slotted spoon; drain well on paper towels., Sprinkle 2 greased baking sheets with cornmeal; place bagels 2 in. apart on prepared pans. Bake at 425° until golden brown, 12-15 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool.

- Rapid cook, medium crust.
- Place ingredient into bread machine as per manufacturer's instructions.
- I don't usually have the sour cream at room temperature and I never have any problems with it.
- The one thing I watch for is that the flour tends to hide in the corners of my machine.
- I just use a spatula and gently push it into the dough.
