For a smoothie that's only about 200 calories, follow our formula and use 1 cup fresh fruit or vegetables and/or cooked, frozen vegetables + 1 cup fruit juice. Blueberries and grape juice are featured here.

- 1 cup strawberries+ 1 cup sour cream= STRAWBERRIES & CREAM. --------------- 1 cup drained or frozen peaches+ 1 cup sour cream= PEACHES & CREAM. -----------------
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder= CHOCOLATE. -------------- 1/4 cup cocoa powder+ 1/2 cup raspberries= CHOCOLATE RASPBERRY.---------------- 1/4 cup cocoa powder+ 1/3 cup peanut butter= CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER CUP. ---------------- 1/4 cup cocoa powder+ 1 teaspoon mint extract= CHOCOLATE MINT. -----------
- 1/3 cup peanut butter+ 1 cup fresh or frozen berries= PEANUT BUTTER & JELLY (Sounds strange but is absolutely delicious).

BASIC SMOOTHIE
You can use this basic recipe to create your own unique smoothies. This is my husband's recipe - he makes them every weekend morning for the kids & us.

Steps:
- Mix all together in a blender and serve immediately.
- The optional wheat germ will not affect the taste or texture but it will give your smoothie an extra health boost.
- Add the ice cubes if you'd like a thicker or colder drink; more like a slushy, especially with frozen banana/fruit/yogurt.
- Use up to 1 cup of yogurt for a thicker drink.
- Other options: 1/2 t vanilla; 1 T honey; 1-2 T powdered sugar, white sugar or Splenda.
