4 tbsp olive oil
6 smoked bacon rashers, chopped
1 ½kg lean minced beef (or use half beef, half pork mince)
4 onions, finely chopped
3 carrots, finely chopped
4 celery sticks, finely chopped
8 garlic cloves, crushed
500g mushrooms, sliced
4 x 400g cans chopped tomatoes
6 tbsp tomato purée
2 tbsp dried mixed herbs
2 bay leaves
large glass red wine (optional)
4 tbsp red wine vinegar
1 tbsp sugar
cooked spaghetti, to serve
parmesan, to serve

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a large pan and fry the bacon and mince in batches until browned. Add to your slow cooker.
  • Add the onions, carrots, celery, garlic, mushrooms, tomatoes, tomato purée, herbs, wine (if using), vinegar, sugar and seasoning to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on Low for 6-8 hours, then uncover, turn to High and cook for another hour until thick and saucy.

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 (28-ounce) cans crushed tomatoes
1 onion, diced
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, optional
1 pound penne
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves

Steps:

  • Season chicken with salt and pepper, to taste. Place chicken into a 6-qt slow cooker. In a large bowl, combine crushed tomatoes, onion, basil, oregano, parsley and red pepper flakes, if using. Stir into the slow cooker and gently toss to combine. Cover and cook on low heat for 4 hours. Remove chicken from the slow cooker and shred, using two forks. In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook pasta according to package instructions; drain well. Stir pasta and chicken into the slow cooker; top with cheeses. Cover and cook on low heat for an additional 10-20 minutes, or until the cheeses have melted. Serve immediately, garnished with parsley, if desired.

2 pounds ground beef
8 ounce block cream cheese, (softened to room temperature)
1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup ricotta cheese
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon dried parsley
2 (24 ounce) jars spaghetti sauce, (divided use)
24 ounce jar water
16 ounce box cavatappi pasta
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Brown and crumble ground beef (season with salt and pepper.) Drain excess grease and set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together cream cheese, sour cream, ricotta cheese, minced garlic and parsley.
  • In the bottom of a 6 quart (or larger) oval slow cooker, add half a jar of spaghetti sauce.
  • Evenly layer half the box of the cavatappi pasta on top of sauce.
  • Pour remaining jar of spaghetti sauce over noodles.
  • Pour on half a jar of water.
  • Then layer half the cooked ground beef mixture over top.
  • Dollop the entire cream cheese mixture evenly as possible over the beef layer. Do not stir.
  • Evenly layer the rest of the cavatappi pasta on top of the cream cheese layer.
  • Top evenly with remaining jar of spaghetti sauce
  • Pour another half jar of water on top of spaghetti sauce.
  • Finally, layer the rest of the cooked ground beef on top.
  • Cover and cook on low for about 3-4 hours.
  • Stir mixture and make sure pasta is fully cooked. If not, cover and allow to cook for another hour. Then evenly layer the top with 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Cover for an additional 15-20 minutes (until cheese is melted.) Sprinkle with a little dried parsley for color (optional).)

1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder

24.5 Ounces Marinara Sauce, (jarred or homemade)
24.5 Ounces Water, (or chicken or vegetable broth)
16 Ounces Penne Pasta, (or other short pasta noodle)
1 Cup Heavy Cream

Steps:

  • Season the chicken breasts with Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes. Place them in an even layer in the bottom of a 6 or 7 quart slow cooker, then pour in marinara sauce. Fill the empty marinara sauce jar with water, close the lid, and give it a shake. Pour the water into the slow cooker.
  • Add the lid, and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours. After that time, remove the chicken and either shred it or cut it into cubes. Return the chicken to the slow cooker along with the pasta noodles and heavy cream. Press the noodles down to ensure they are submerged in the liquid.
  • Close the lid, adjust the setting to low heat, and cook for an additional 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on how firm you like the noodles cooked. Stir occasionally to make sure the noodles are evenly cooked.
  • Serve hot with a side salad and garlic bread. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

2 lbs ground chuck (80/20 is what I use)
1 medium yellow onion, chopped
5-7 cloves garlic, minced
1 (26 oz) jar of marinara sauce, your favorite brand
1 (15 oz) can of fire roasted diced tomatoes
1/2 cup water
1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
2 tsp balsamic vinegar
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/2 - 1 tsp dried basil
1/2 - 1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
pinch of sugar, to counteract the acidity of the canned tomatoes
8 oz dried spaghetti pasta, broken into thirds
1-2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
fresh parsley or basil, minced, (for garnish)
freshly grated Parmesan cheese, (for garnish)

Steps:

  • Heat a large skillet over MED to MED-HIGH heat with a small drizzle of oil. Add ground beef and onion and cook 5-6 minutes, until beef is cooked through, crumbling as you cook. Drain meat/onion mixture and return to skillet.
  • Reduce heat to MED-LOW, add garlic and cook 1-2 minutes. Add marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, water, Italian seasoning, balsamic vinegar, thyme, basil, oregano, salt, pepper, and sugar. Stir to combine well.
  • Spoon meat mixture into lightly greased 6 quart slow cooker. Top with broken spaghetti and stir together. Top with shredded cheese, cover and cook on LOW 4 hours.

Also the serving amounts are just estimates because my family of 4 eats large portions compared to the average family. The milk or chicken broth in the recipe are optional because the soup mixture may be the desired consistency if the chicken makes enough of its own juice.

4 -6 boneless skinless chicken breasts
2 (10 3/4 ounce) cans cream of chicken soup
2 (10 3/4 ounce) cans cream of mushroom soup
8 ounces of fresh sliced mushrooms
1 onion, sliced (I like mine in chunks)
salt
pepper
garlic
tony chachere creole seasoning
8 ounces pasta noodles (any type you prefer)
1 tablespoon butter (optional)
milk or chicken broth (see **) (optional)

Steps:

  • Mix together soups, mushrooms and onion.
  • Season with salt, pepper and garlic to taste.
  • Place in slow cooker.
  • Place chicken breast on top of the soup mixture, season with salt, pepper, garlic and Tony's.
  • Cook on high for 4- 5 hours, or low for 8- 10 hours.
  • Cook noodles as directed and add to slow cooker at the last 20 minutes of cooking time.
  • At this time add the butter if using.

1 cup Broth (Vegetable, Low sodium, Can be replaced with water)

1 pound Ziti pasta (Uncooked)

Steps:

  • Pour one jar of pasta sauce, broth, onion, green peppers, garlic powder, pepper, Italian seasoning in a crockpot (6 quart or larger).
  • Mix until combined.
  • Add the pasta and parmesan cheese.
  • Then, pour the second jar of pasta as evenly as you can, on top of the cheese.
  • Cover and cook on High heat for 1 hour or until pasta is cooked through. Be sure to stir everything together at the 30 minute point. Please note that your cooking time may vary, based on the brand, size and even age of crockpot you are using. For me, 1 hour was the best cooking time. For you, it could be higher up to 1.5 hours or lower at just 40-45 minutes. Keep a close eye.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley or basil and more parmesan cheese. Enjoy!

Baked Spaghetti is a delicious cheesy casserole that will change the way you make spaghetti!

48 oz. Pasta Sauce (Such as Ragu Old World Style, Newman's own Marinara, or Rao's Marinara.)
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1/2 cup diced white onion
1 minced garlic clove
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. dried basil
1 lb. spaghetti noodles (see below for cooking instructions, these don't get cooked or added until after the sauce cooks for 6 hours)
4 ounces cream cheese (1/2 cup)
1 cup ricotta cheese
1/4 tsp. salt
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Pour the jars of sauce in to the slow cooker. In a large skillet set over medium-high heat, brown the meat and onions together. After the meat is browned add the garlic, cook for a minute a longer. Drain the fat. Add the salt, pepper, oregano and basil and stir. Pour the meat onto the sauce in the slow cooker and stir.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 6 hours without opening the lid during the cooking time.
  • After the cooking time is up, cook the noodles as directed on the package in boiling water on the stove-top. I cooked my noodles for exactly 8 minutes after adding them to the boiling water. The noodles will cook a bit more after adding them to the slow cooker.
  • Drain the noodles and add them to the meat sauce in the slow cooker. Stir, then flatten the noodles in an even layer.
  • In a small bowl combine the cream cheese, ricotta and salt. The cream cheese will be in small chunks, but that is fine.
  • Dollop the cream cheese/ricotta mixture over the spaghetti, then use a spatula to even it out over the spaghetti. Add the mozzarella cheese.
  • Cover and cook for an extra 20 minutes on LOW.
  • Serve and enjoy!

1 Vidalia onion (diced)
1 tablespoon DUST by VooDoo Chef (or use Italian Seasoning)
¼ teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
26 oz your favorite marinara Sauce (jarred or homemade)
26 oz low sodium chicken broth
fresh parsley and shredded Parmesan for garnish if desired

Steps:

  • Season the chicken breasts with DUST seasoning red pepper flakes.
  • Add diced onion to the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Place the chicken in an even layer in the bottom of a 6 or 7 quart slow cooker.
  • Add the lid, and cook on high for 3 hours.
  • After 3 hours, remove the chicken and either shred it or cut it into slices or cubes.
