- In a large saucepan over medium heat, brown hamburger, green pepper, and onion. Cook and drain all grease. Add the remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Serve on buns.
- I like to top with a slice of cheese before I put the top bun on.

Steps:
- Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the beef and cook until browned, 4-5 minutes, stirring with a spoon to break it up.
- Discard any drippings.
- Stir in the mixed vegetables, 1 1/3 cups water, the tomato paste, and seasoning mix; bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat and simmer, stirring, until thickened, about 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, preheat the broiler.
- Place the buns, cut side up, on a broiler rack and broil 3 inches from the heat until toasted, 1-2 minutes.
- Top each bun half with I slice of the cheese and broil until the cheese is melted, about 1 minute longer.
- Spoon 1/2 cup of the beef mixture on top of each bun half and serve at once.
- PLAN AHEAD TIP.
- Make a double batch of the beef mixture and freeze the extra in an airtight container up to 1 month to have on hand for another meal.

- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add the ground beef, garlic, bell pepper and onion. Season with the chili powder and some salt and pepper. Cook, crumbling the beef as you go, until cooked through, 6 to 8 minutes. Add the beef broth, macaroni, ketchup, mustard, brown sugar and hot sauce. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook until the macaroni is soft and the sauce is thick, 9 to 10 minutes.

- Set a large skillet over medium-high heat with the olive oil. Once hot, add the ground sirloin and begin breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until crispy and no longer pink, about 10 minutes. Add the onion, bell pepper and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, pepper, cayenne, and chicken stock. Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce has thickened and almost evaporated completely, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool.
- To assemble the sandwiches, lay out 4 bread slices in a single layer. Brush the bread with 3 tablespoons of the softened butter, then turn the bread over. Top each bread slice with 1/4 cup shredded cheese. Spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture on top of the cheese. Top with remaining cheese and top each with a slice of bread. Brush with remaining butter.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over moderate heat. Working in batches, cook sandwiches until bread is crisp and golden and the cheese has melted, about 3 minutes per side. Transfer to a cutting board and cook the remaining sandwiches.
- To serve, cut each sandwich in half and skewer with a few pickle slices on top.

- Brown ground beef and drain fat.
- Add Sloppy Joe Sauce and heat through.
- Put some Sloppy Joe mixture in the middle of flour tortilla and sprinkle shredded cheese over the mixture.
- Wrap tortilla around mixture like you would a burrito.
- Spray a skillet with butter flavored pam and heat.
- Grill wrap on both sides until it is brown and toasty.
- Serve.
