This recipe comes from Susan Branch's Summer Cookbook. I saw a recipe similar to this but I think this version is spectacular on a summer day lounging by the pool. I realize this seems like a strange combination but the taste is delicious. I like my beers on the hoppy side but I definately use a light beer in this recipe.

2/3 cup beer, cold
2/3 cup frozen pink lemonade concentrate
1/4 cup vodka

Steps:

  • Fill a blender half way with ice. Pour in beer, lemonade, and vodka. Blend well and serve.

6 (12 ounce) cans beer (I used Natty Light, but I'm cheap. The original recipe suggested using Corona Light)
1 (12 ounce) can frozen pink lemonade concentrate, slightly thawed
1 1/2 cups vodka

Steps:

  • Fill punch bowl or beverage server with ice.
  • Pour beers over ice.
  • Stir in lemonade concentrate and vodka after beer stops foaming.
  • Garnish with lemon wheel slices, if desired.

5 lbs apples (LOBO)
1/4 cup apple juice
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 lemon, zest of
1/2 lemon juice

Steps:

  • Cut the apples in halves.
  • Put apples, lemon juice, apple juice and lemon zests in pot.
  • Cover pot and cook on low for 15 minutes, stir occasionally.
  • When apples have softened, bring to a boil and reduce heat to a simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Press applesauce through a strainer or a food mill.
  • Add maple syrup, mix well.

This is a very refreshing summer ADULT beverage that tastes like lemonade. Warning: it packs a punch! A pitcher of these on a hot summer day is the best...if you don't have to drive anywhere! Serve over ice. I know the ingredients sound weird...but trust me, this is a keeper! Great for a barbeque or a good beach/poolside drink.

12 ounces frozen lemonade concentrate
42 ounces Corona beer (six 7-oz. bottles)
12 ounces vodka (I prefer Grey Goose)

Steps:

  • Pour lemonade concentrate in a large pitcher. Measure 12 ounces vodka in the empty lemonade container and pour over concentrate; stir to blend. Add the beer and stir well. It will fizz a bit but settle after a minute over two. Serve over ice and enjoy!
