GROUND CHICKEN BURGERS

Delicious alternative to beef, these flavorful burgers made with ground chicken will keep you grilling from spring to fall. Top with a spicy cheese or BBQ sauce.

1 cup bread crumbs
¼ cup minced onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 ½ teaspoons coarse sea salt, or to taste
½ teaspoon ground paprika
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 pound ground chicken
1 large egg

Steps:

  • Combine bread crumbs, onion, garlic, Parmesan cheese, salt, paprika, black pepper, and cayenne pepper in the bowl of a food processor; pulse until blended.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat and lightly oil the grate.
  • Combine chicken, egg, and bread crumb mixture in a large bowl until evenly mixed. Divide into 4 equal parts and shape into patties. Place on a cookie sheet and cover with aluminum foil. Refrigerate for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Cook on the preheated grill until cooked through, at least 7 minutes per side. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center of the burgers should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

I threw this one together. It ended up being so good, I turned it into the recipe.

FOR THE BURGERS
2 lb ground chicken
1 c dry bread crumbs
1 egg
1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground pepper
THE REST
1 pkg hamburger buns
lettuce
tomato
cheese slices
bacon
onion
ketcup, mustard, mayonnaise
pickles

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients for burgers together by hand until thoroughly combined.
  • 2. Shape into 8 patties.
  • 3. Place on broiler pan. Broil 6 inches from heat for 6 minutes. then flip each patty.
  • 4. Cook for5 more minutes. Add cheese and broil 1 more minute.
  • 5. Serve on toasted buns with desired toppings.
