3 pounds jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
½ cup olive oil
2 teaspoons sesame oil
¼ cup lemon juice
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, peeled
2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger root
2 tablespoons minced fresh cilantro leaves
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
skewers

Steps:

  • In a blender or food processor, process the olive oil, sesame oil, lemon juice, onion, garlic, ginger, cilantro, paprika, salt, and pepper until smooth. Reserve a small amount for basting. Pour the remaining mixture into a dish, add shrimp, and stir to coat. Cover, and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  • Preheat grill for medium heat. Thread shrimp onto skewers, piercing once near the tail and once near the head. Discard marinade.
  • Lightly oil grill grate. Grill shrimp for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until opaque. Baste with reserved sauce while cooking.

2 teaspoons sesame oil

5 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
2 teaspoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons rice wine vinegar
1 tablespoon Gourmet Gardens™ Ginger Paste
2 tablespoons canola oil, divided
1 teaspoon sesame oil, divided
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
kosher salt, to taste
½ yellow onion, thinly sliced
1 head broccoli, cut into small florets, including leaves
1 red bell pepper, seeded and thinly sliced
2 scallions, cut into 1-inch (2 1/2 cm) pieces
8 oz mushroom, such as cremini or shiitake, stemmed, thinly sliced
1 medium carrot, peeled and thinly sliced
½ head baby bok choy, bottom removed and larger leaves halved lengthwise

2 tablespoons salted peanut, chopped
2 scallions, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, toss the shrimp with sesame oil and the Gourmet Gardens™ Garlic and Ginger Pastes. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
  • Make the sweet ginger chili sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the chili sauce, soy sauce, vinegar and the Gourmet Garden™ Ginger Paste. Set aside.
  • In a wok or large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon canola oil and ½ teaspoon sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp to the pan in a single layer and season with salt and the red pepper flakes. Cook the shrimp for about 2 minutes per side, until just cooked through. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
  • Add the remaining tablespoon of canola oil and ½ teaspoon sesame oil to the pan and reduce the heat to medium. Add the onion and sauté for about 3 minutes, until softened. Add the broccoli and cook for about 5 minutes, until starting to soften. Add the bell pepper and scallions and continue to cook until the peppers start to soften, about 3 minutes. Add the mushrooms and cook until soft, about 3 minutes more. Add the bok choy and carrots and cook until the bok choy is wilted, 2-3 minutes. Season with the salt.
  • Return the shrimp to the pan and add the sweet ginger chili sauce, tossing to combine.
  • Divide the stir fry between 2 bowls and garnish with the peanuts and thinly sliced scallions. Serve immediately.

  • Pat shrimp dry and season with salt

1 package brown rice noodles (pre-cooked)
1/2 onion (thinly sliced)
desired vegetables (broccoli - cut into small florets, sliced mushrooms, sliced bell pepper, etc.)
sesame oil (or canola oil)
peanuts (optional)
3 tablespoons peanut butter
3 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 tablespoon honey
2 teaspoons minced/grated ginger

Steps:

  • Combine peanut butter, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and ginger in a small bowl or jar. (If the peanut butter is thick, microwave for 30 or more seconds until drizzly). Whisk until smooth.
  • In a large skillet or wok, drizzle sesame (or canola) oil and cook shrimp over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes, until no longer translucent. Remove and set aside.
  • Add more oil to the pan and add chopped vegetables. Cook, stirring occasionally, about 5-7 minutes until just tender.
  • Turn the heat down to medium. Add shrimp and pre-cooked brown rice noodles to the pan, along with the sauce. Stir well for 1-2 minutes, until sauce is evenly incorporated. Add peanuts if desired and serve.

  • Bring a large saucepan of slated water to boil for won ton wrappers.
  • In a small saucepan cook shallot and gingerroot in wine until wine is reduced to about 1 tablespoon. Remove pan from heat and whisk butter into sauce, 1 piece at a time, adding each new piece before previous one has melted completely. (Sauce should not become hot enough to liqueify.)

  • To prepare pot stickers, combine first 10 ingredients in a food processor; pulse 4 times or until coarsely chopped. Working with 1 wonton wrapper at a time (cover remaining wrappers with a damp towel to prevent drying), spoon about 1 1/2 teaspoons shrimp mixture into center of each wrapper. Moisten edges of dough with water; bring 2 opposite corners to center, pinching points to seal. Bring remaining 2 corners to center, pinching points to seal. Pinch 4 edges together to seal. Place pot stickers on a large baking sheet sprinkled with cornstarch.
  • Heat 1 1/2 teaspoons canola oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add 12 pot stickers to pan; cook 2 minutes or until bottoms are golden brown. Slowly add 1/2 cup water to pan; cover and cook 4 minutes. Uncover and cook 3 minutes or until liquid evaporates. Repeat procedure with remaining 1 1/2 teaspoons canola oil, 12 pot stickers, and 1/2 cup water.
  • To prepare sauce, combine 1/4 cup water and next 5 ingredients (through sugar) in a small bowl, stirring with a whisk. Serve sauce with pot stickers. Garnish with chopped green onions, if desired.
