1 pint dill pickle, sliced and undrained
1 large egg, beaten
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, plus
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika
hot sauce
vegetable oil (for frying)

Steps:

  • Drain pickles, reserving 2/3 cup pickle juice.
  • Press pickles between paper towels.
  • Combine pickle juice, egg, 1 Tbsp flour and hot sauce(to taste). Stir well and set aside.
  • Combine remaining flour with red pepper, garlic powder, salt and paprika. Blend well.
  • Dip pickles in egg mixture then in flour mixture.
  • Fry coated pickles in 375F oil until golden brown.
  • Drain on paper towels.

1 (24 ounce) jar kosher dill pickles (spears or slices)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup louisiana hot sauce (Texas Pete)
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 gallon peanut oil
2 cups batter frying mix (Uncle Bubba's Fry Mix #477285)

Steps:

  • Drain the juice from the pickle jar and refill the jar with the garlic powder, hot sauce, and buttermilk. Marinate the pickles for at least 30 minutes.
  • In a Dutch oven over medium-high heat, heat the oil to 350 degrees F. Drain the pickles. Put the fry mix in a large mixing bowl, and toss the pickles to coat thoroughly. Shake off the excess mix by tossing lightly in a strainer and deep fry the pickles in batches for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on the size of the spears.
  • When golden brown, remove the pickles from the oil with a clean strainer or slotted metal spoon and place on paper towels to drain off any excess oil. Serve immediately.

1 cup milk
1 egg
Pinch cayenne
Splash pickle juice
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon salt, plus more for seasoning
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 teaspoons finely chopped dill
1 jar whole dill pickles, sliced into spears

Steps:

  • Preheat your deep-fryer to 375 degrees F.
  • Into an 8 by 8-inch casserole dish, beat together milk, egg, cayenne, and a splash of the pickle juice.
  • Combine the cornmeal, flour, paprika, salt, pepper, and dill into another baking dish.
  • Thoroughly dry the pickles with paper towels. Dredge first through the wet, then the dry ingredients. Gently place pickles into the deep-fryer in batches and fry until golden brown, about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. Remove to a paper towel lined sheet tray and immediately season with salt.

Many people are surprised that they love this unusual food item. I know there are many recipes here for this food item, this is the way we fix them. The first time we made these we ran out of pickles so we started to "fry" anything that was not tied down, olives, cheese, veggies, I even was looking at the cats ( well the wife would not stand for that ) so it did not happen LOL! 1 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
1 1/2 cups dill pickle slices, thin
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
oil (for frying)

Steps:

  • Mix the flour, salt, cayenne and pepper in a bowl.
  • Lightly whip the egg in a separate bowl.
  • Add the milk to the egg.
  • Heat the oil (about 2 inches) to 325.
  • Dip the pickle slices first into the flour, then the egg mixture, and finally back into the flour.
  • Carefully place the pickles into the hot oil. Do not overcrowd. Fry until golden brown (about 8 minutes), turning once.
  • Drain on paper towels.
  • Serve warm.

12 zesty dill pickles
3 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
3/4 cup Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® Dressing
3/4 cup Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons dried chives
2 large eggs
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon Hidden Valley Original Ranch Seasoning Mix
3 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
1 cup shredded parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon dried chives

Steps:

  • 1. Place pickles on paper towel to dry.
  • 2. Mix together ingredients for your batter. Set aside.
  • 3. Place Dry Mix #1 ingredients into bowl and mix together. In seperate bowl, mix together Dry Mix #2.
  • 4. Dip pickles, one at a time, into Dry Mix #1. Shake off any excess flour. Dip pickles into Batter then immediately coat with Dry Mix #2.
  • 5. Place prepared pickles onto wire rack and freeze for 20 minutes.
  • 6. Preheat oil in pan to 375 degrees. Fry pickles in batches of 3 or 4 for 3 to 5 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oil and drain on paper towel. Repeat until done. Let cool several minutes before serving. Enjoy.

  • Drain pickles, reserving 2/3-cup pickle juice. Press pickles between paper towels. Combine 2/3 cup pickle juice, egg, 1 tablespoon flour, and hot sauce. Stir well and set aside.
  • Combine 1 1/2 cups flour with ground red pepper, garlic powder, salt, and paprika. Blend well. Dip pickles in egg mixture, then dredge in flour mixture. Fry coated pickles in 375-degree oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

These Dill Pickles are out of this world! Bobby Flay had the recipe posted on Food Network's website. I made them for the holidays and people didn't stop raving about them. They are very easy and delicious. You may adjust the spice to your liking. The longer they sit, the hotter they get. I quartered them both horizontally and vertically to make them more bite-size. We liked them best after 4 days.

4 cups rice wine vinegar
2 tablespoons honey
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon whole white peppercorns
1 teaspoon coriander seed
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon toasted cumin seed
1 tablespoon kosher salt
2 tablespoons coarsely chopped dill
2 tablespoons coarsely chopped cilantro leaves
2 unpeeled English cucumbers, washed, cut in 1/2 horizontally then quartered lengthwise

Steps:

  • Combine the vinegar, honey, pepper flakes, coriander, mustard seeds, fennel seeds, cumin and salt in a medium, non-reactive saucepan over high heat and bring to a boil. Let boil for 2 minutes; remove from the heat and let sit until cooled to room temperature. Add the dill and cilantro. Place the cut cucumbers in a medium bowl and pour the cooled vinegar mixture over them. Refrigerate, covered for 24 hours or up to 4 days. (leaving them longer just makes them hotter but still delicious.) Cooking time includes refrigeration.

1 cup buttermilk
2 tablespoons Louisiana-style hot sauce
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup cornmeal
2 tablespoons garlic salt
2 tablespoons paprika
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon pepper
Oil for deep-fat frying
Ranch salad dressing, optional

Steps:

  • Drain pickles, discarding liquid. Cut pickles into 1/2-inch-thick slices. Drain on paper towels; blot with additional paper towels until dry., In a shallow bowl, mix buttermilk and hot sauce. In another shallow bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, garlic salt, paprika, cayenne pepper and pepper. Dip pickles in buttermilk mixture, then in flour mixture. In a Dutch oven, heat 1 in. of oil to 375°. 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
¾ teaspoon salt
¾ teaspoon ground black pepper

1 (32 ounce) jar sliced dill pickles, drained
1 quart vegetable oil for deep-frying

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, mix together the egg, milk, 1 tablespoon of flour, and Worcestershire sauce. In a separate bowl, stir together the remaining flour, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat oil to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) in a deep-fryer or heavy deep skillet. Dip pickle slices into the milk mixture, then into the flour mixture. Repeat dipping.
