Steps:
- Toast the sesame seeds by placing in a skillet over medium heat. Stir often until they start to brown. Remove from heat and transfer to another dish as soon as they reach a golden color. They can go from brown to burnt quickly so keep a close watch. Let cool.
- Whisk together all the ingredients in a mason jar or other container. If using a jar you can put the lid on and give it a good shake.
- This dressing will keep in the fridge for 2-3 weeks.
ASIAN SESAME DRESSING
A fantastic standby dressing to have on hand because it keeps for 3 weeks! Use this Asian dressing for leafy green salads, Asian slaws, noodle salads and chopped salads. It's also a terrific dressing to make steamed vegetables so much tastier. Finish with a sprinkle of fresh sesame seeds and sliced greens onions!

Steps:
- Place ingredients in a jar and shake well until sugar is dissolved. Adjust saltiness with salt and sweetness with sugar to taste.
- Keep for up to 3 weeks, in the fridge (to be safe). Bring to room temp and shake well before use.
- Single serving batch is enough for 3 - 4 cups of shredded cabbage / leafy greens i.e. a side salad for 4 people.
- Big batch - my rule of thumb for how much dressing to use is generally 1 tbsp of dressing per 1 packed cup of shredded vegetables and 2 tsp per handful of leafy greens.

SESAME-SOY DRESSING FOR ONE
I had some soy ginger dressing but I had forgotten that I'd used it up and my chicken garden salad really cried out for it. I whipped this up and really like it. No ginger though. Note: I made this low calorie but one may find this dressing does not stick to the salad well. If calories aren't a problem for you, replace the water with a mild oil such as canola and add water if needed after tasting.

Steps:
- Combine all ingredients. Pour over your salad.
- If you do not have flavored rice vinegar, I would think that plain would work. Try adding a little bit of crushed garlic to add the missing flavor.

SOY AND SESAME DRESSING
One of the joys of lo-carb dieting, is eating a salad with more than a forkful of salad dressing! This recipe is a nice change from Ranch & Blue Cheese dressings. It's another of Dana Carpendar's recipes from her Low-Carb cookbooks.
