This Day 5: Dinner, on the 21 Day Wonder Diet. This is so delicious, lots of flavour with very little fat! Be sure to have all of your ingredients prepared and measured out before you start, so you can just tip each thing in as required!

1/2 cup couscous
1/2 cup boiling water
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
180 g rump steak, sliced thinly
1 small red onion, cut into wedges
1 garlic clove, crushed
150 g baby bok choy, quartered
1 long red chili, sliced thinly
2 tablespoons beef stock
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
2 tablespoons light soy sauce
150 g snow peas, sliced thinly

Steps:

  • Combine couscous with the water in medium heatproof bowl, cover; stand 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, toast sesame seeds in heated wok about 30 seconds; transfer to small bowl.
  • Stir-fry beef in heated wok until browned; transfer to another small bowl.
  • Stir-fry onion in heated wok 1 minute. Add garlic, bok choy and chilli; stir fry 1 minute. Add stock, sauces and beef; stir-fry until hot. Remove from heat; stir in peas.
  • Serve couscous topped with stir-fry and sprinkled with sesame seeds.

2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

1 lb flank steak
1 medium onion
1 red pepper
1 green pepper
1 (8 ounce) package frozen broccoli florets
3 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted

Steps:

  • Combine soy sauce, 4 Tbsp oil, honey, mustard and red pepper into bowl and add in steak. Mix and Bag -- will marinate as it defrosts.
  • Slice and bag -- 1 medium onion.
  • 1 red pepper.
  • 1 green pepper.
  • broccoli florets (either use frozen or make sure to blanch broccoli first. me FROZEN!).
  • Put both bags in a large bag with a copy of the instructions and enjoy!

8 tablespoons CRISCO® Canola Oil or Vegetable Oil
2 teaspoons honey
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 pound flank steak, cut into thin strips
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons fresh ginger, minced
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 green pepper, thinly sliced
1 bunch broccoli, cut into flowerets
1 (8 ounce) can sliced water chestnuts
3 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted
Steamed rice as an accompaniment

Steps:

  • Whisk together soy sauce, 4 tablespoons CRISCO® Oil, honey, mustard and red pepper flakes, in a medium bowl. Add steak and toss. Marinate, covered at room temperature for 15 minutes.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons CRISCO® Oil over moderately high heat, in a wok or heavy skillet. Heat until hot, but not smoking. Saute garlic, ginger, onion, bell peppers and broccoli, stirring, 5-7 minutes. Transfer mixture to another bowl.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons CRISCO® Oil in wok over high heat until hot, but not smoking. Saute steak, stirring about 2 minutes.
  • Stir in sauteed vegetables, water chestnuts and sesame seeds until heated through.
  • Serve over steamed rice with additional soy sauce.

1 teaspoon sesame seeds
650 g raw king prawns, shelled and deveined
1 small brown onion, cut into wedges
300 g bok choy, sliced thinly
1 small carrot, cut into matchsticks
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon honey
10 g ginger, grated
2 green onions, sliced thinly

Steps:

  • Cook rice in medium saucepan of boiling water, uncovered, until tender, drain.
  • Meanwhile, toast sesame seeds in heated wok, remove from wok.
  • Cook prawns in heated wok; remove.
  • Stir-fry brown onion in heated wok about 3 minutes or until tender. Return prawns to wok with wombok, carrot, juice, honey and ginger; stir-fry until hot.

1 -2 teaspoon soy sauce, to taste

Steps:

  • In a large skillet or wok, toast the sesame seeds over medium heat, shaking the pan about 1 minute or until the seeds are pale brown and nutty-smelling.

½ cup long-grain brown rice
¼ cup low-sodium beef broth
2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce

1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
¼ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon cornstarch
cooking spray
¾ pound beef shoulder tender, cut into bite-size strips
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
1 carrot, julienned into 2-inch pieces
6 green onions, bias-sliced into 2-inch pieces
1 large red bell pepper, cut into bite-size strips
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger

Steps:

  • Remove 1 tablespoon zest and 1/4 cup juice from 1 orange. Peel and section remaining 2 oranges.
  • Bring water and brown rice to a boil in a saucepan. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until rice is tender and liquid has been absorbed, 45 to 50 minutes.

1 cup broccoli coleslaw mix (found near bagged salads in produce dept)
1 cup napa cabbage, shredded
1 tablespoon light soy sauce
crushed red pepper flakes, to taste

Steps:

  • Prepare brown rice according to its package directions.
  • While the rice is cooking, in a medium skillet or wok, brown the ground beef over medium heat until no longer pink. Remove the beef from the skillet, drain & set aside.
