Seize The Day Cafe Au Lait Food

CAFE AU LAIT

Steps:

• Brew coffee. Heat milk, almost to a boil.
• Pour coffee and hot milk, preferably simultaneously, into large cups or mugs.
• Sweeten to taste. If you like the frothy finish that traditional steam infusers give to cafe au lait, whirl the hot milk in a blender (or use a whisk or hand mixer) before filling cups.

SEIZE THE DAY CAFE AU LAIT

Steps:

• In a small saucepan, combine milk, chocolate syrup and almond extract until blended. Bring just to a boil over medium-low heat.
• Pour the milk mixture and coffee simultaneaously into a French cafe au lait bowl or a large coffee cup.
• Top with grated chocolate or nutmeg.
• Serve immediately.

HOMEMADE CAFE AU LAIT

Steps:

• Add the milk to a 2-cup mason jar. Add 1 teaspoon of caramel syrup if using and close the lid tightly. Shake the jar until foamy, about 1 minute. Remove the lid and microwave the foamy milk until hot, about 1 minute.
• Pour the hot coffee into an 8-ounce mug. Top the coffee with the hot milk and spoon over some foam. Drizzle with caramel syrup if desired.

ORANGE CAFE AU LAIT MIX- GIFT IN A JAR

Steps:

• Place all ingredients in food processor.
• Cover and process 5 to 10 seconds, until well mixed.
• Store in tightly covered container at room temperature up to 6 months.
• For each serving, place 2 teaspoons mix in cup. Fill with 2/3 cup boiling water.

DIABETIC CAFE AU LAIT

Steps:

• Place coffee granules into coffee cup/mug.
• In small saucepan, heat milk, sweet-n-low, and cinnamon over medium-low heat until it reaches a simmer.
• Pour into coffee cup, stir well and enjoy!

CATFISH (OR ANY WHITE FISH) AU LAIT

Steps:

• Combine the milk, crab boil seasoning, pepper, salt and onion in a skillet, coverage and bring to a simmer.
• Add the fish to the liquid, spooning some of the liquid over the fillets.
• Reduce the heat to low.
• cover the skillet and poach for 6 to 9 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets.
