Steps:
- Heat oil in a dutch oven over medium heat.
- Add onion, sugar and cumin and cook for 2 minutes, being sure it doesn't brown.
- Add the cabbage, salt and pepper, bay leaf, broth and wine. If liquid does not come to top of ingredients, add more liquid, making sure it does not cover them.
- Bring to a boil and reduce heat to medium. Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
- Cover the cabbage with bacon and continue cooking for 20 additional minutes.

- Combine Ham and Water (enough to cover just the bottom of the pot) in slow cooker. Cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
- After 6 hours on low or 3 hours on high, remove bone from ham (ham should be falling off of bone) and add sauerkraut. Continue to cook on low for about 4 hours. (You could add small red potatoes or diced potatoes at this time as well.).

SCALLOPED PINEAPPLE-GREAT SIDE DISH TO HAM!
My husband's grandmother ONLY makes this for Easter dinner-but it's a simple recipe with a few ingredients so you can make it ANYTIME you like-It's kinda a "bread filling/pudding" but sweet from the pineapple and sugar. Goes great with ham!!!

- Pre heat oven to 375°F.
- Moisten bread cubes with milk.
- Mix with remaining ingredients and bake in a 2-quart covered casserole dish for 45 minutes.
- Last 15 minutes remove lid and bake uncovered to form crust and firm.
- Allow to briefly rest before serving.
- Serve warm.
