RASPBERRY CREAM CHEESE CRESCENT RING



Raspberry Cream Cheese Crescent Ring image

This raspberry cream cheese crescent ring is the perfect holiday breakfast! It's ready in only about 30 minutes, and is such a beautiful dish!

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 cans Pillsbury™ refrigerated crescent rolls
8 oz cream cheese ((softened))
1/4 cup white sugar
1.5 cups fresh raspberries (1/4)
1/4 cup raspberry preserves
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 TBS milk
1/4 cup sliced almonds

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  • Line a 14inch pizza pan with parchment paper, spray with cooking spray. (Use a large cookie sheet if you don't have a pizza pan.
  • Unroll the crescent roll dough from both cans. Separate into the triangles.
  • Cut each triangle in half lengthwise.
  • Place crescent triangles in a circle in the pizza pan, with the wide end in the middle, and the small end hanging over the edge. Overlap them slightly.
  • Press the crescent roll pieces together at the bottoms and sides.
  • In a medium sized bowl, stir together cream cheese and white sugar until well mixed.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture over the wide part of the ring, leaving a small edge in the middle.
  • In another medium sized bowl, stir together the fresh raspberries and the raspberry preserves.
  • Spread raspberries evenly over the top of the cream cheese layer.
  • Fold the tips of the dough over the top of the cream cheese and raspberries. Pinch the ends to the bottom dough piece to attach.
  • Place pan in the preheated oven and bake for 16-19 minutes until the top is golden brown.
  • Allow to cool for about 5 minutes on the pizza pan. Then carefully using the parchment paper remove the danish from the pan and set on a serving platter or cookie sheet.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the powdered sugar and milk until well blended. Add a little more milk if it's too thick, or more powdered sugar if it's too thin.
  • Drizzle icing over the top.
  • Sprinkle the top with sliced almonds.
  • Enjoy warm!

This appetizer can be made low fat and still taste great. The nuts and the jalapeño raspberry make it slightly different than other versions and I like the additions.

1 lb cheddar cheese (grated, sharp)
1 cup mayonnaise
1 small onion (grated)
1 cup nuts, finely chopped (I use pecans)
1 dash cayenne
black pepper
raspberry preserves (I prefer a fiery jalepeno raspberry ambrosia by Praire Thyme)

Steps:

  • Mix cheese, nuts, mayonnaise and onion until well blended in a bowl.
  • Stir in cayenne and black pepper to taste.
  • Can be chilled overnight or served.
  • I spread it around the outside of a platter and leave a space in the center to pour the preserves into.
  • Serve with wheat crackers. I personally prefer Triscuits.

¾ cup mayonnaise
5 medium green onions, finely chopped (white parts only)
1 pinch cayenne pepper
1 pinch garlic salt, or to taste
1 (10 ounce) jar raspberry preserves
1 (10 ounce) package thin wheat crackers

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, mix together the Cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, green onion, cayenne pepper, and garlic salt until well blended. Coat a ring shaped gelatin mold generously with cooking spray. Spoon the cheese mixture into the mold, cover, and chill for 2 to 3 hours to set.
  • Unmold onto a serving plate, and pour raspberry preserves into the center. Arrange wheat crackers around the outside of the ring.

1-1/2 cups boiling water
2 packages (10 ounces each) frozen sweetened raspberries, thawed and drained

Steps:

4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup mayonnaise
2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
3 green onions, finely chopped
1 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup seedless raspberry preserves
Assorted crackers

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, beat cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth. Beat in cheeses and onions. Stir in pecans. Spread into a plastic wrap-lined 9-in. round dish. Refrigerate until set, about 1 hour., Invert onto a serving plate; spread with preserves. Serve with crackers.

1 cup Hellmann's mayonnaise
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
fresh ground pepper
1 dash cayenne pepper
1 (12 ounce) jar strawberry preserves
cracker, of your choice (I like whole grain crackers)

Steps:

  • Combine cheese with mayo, chopped nuts and onions.
  • Mix in black pepper and cayenne, and blend thoroughly.
  • Press into a 3-cup ring mold.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  • To serve, dip mold into a pan of hot water for 15-20 seconds before turning out onto a serving platter. Fill center with strawberry preserves. Serve with crackers of your choice.
