Sangaria Peach. Tasters complimented the Sangaria Peach flavor for its clean scent and a subtle-yet-distinct peach jelly candy flavor, like the gummies you’d find at an Asian grocery store.
Sangaria Melon. While some found Sangaria Melon too sweet, others said it would be a good fit for children. “It tastes a little like ink from a ballpoint pen, but in a good way,” one wrote.
Hatakosen Strawberry. With a bright pink color, the Hatakosen Strawberry reminded tasters of strawberry hard candies and brought a rush a nostalgia with it.
Kimura Watermelon (tie) Kimura Watermelon’s appearance reminded people of Kool-Aid and Popsicles. Participants praised its perfect sweetness, without being overly sweet, and said it reminded them of Hi-C punch.
Hatakosen Melon (tie) While one taster described it as “radiation green,” another said its color was like a Midori martini. “Melonificent!” one said of the flavor.
Sangaria Orange. Clean with a slightly syrupy texture, Sangaria Orange was refreshing and had an aroma that reminded one taster of orange bitters. “It’s like the best parts of every orange soda,” one participant wrote. $
Hatakosen Litchi. With only a hint of tropical fruit, Hatakosen Litchi seemed to leave tasters a bit bored, with many complaining that it had no scent and no lychee flavor.
Kimura Original. If someone left a glass of 7Up out on the counter with ice in it, then returned to it later, its flavor may be similar to what the Kimura Original tastes like.
Hatakosen Watermelon. This pretty light pink soda reminded many tasters of Jolly Rancher candies. “I’m as happy as those cartoon watermelons on the label,” one taster said.
Kimura Yuzu Citrus. The biggest complaint about Kimura Yuzu Citrus was that it was bitter with no sweet pay-off. One taster enjoyed the tart and sour notes, but another said it reminded her of “a disappointing lemonade stand drink I paid 25 cents for.” $
