Easy Cajun Shrimp image

This easy Cajun shrimp recipe takes just 5 minutes on the stove for a big payoff in flavor! Whip it up as a quick weeknight dinner.

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
2 teaspoons purchased Cajun seasoning OR 1 1/2 tablespoons homemade Cajun seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
2 tablespoons olive oil

Steps:

  • Pat the shrimp dry. In a medium bowl, mix the shrimp with ½ teaspoon kosher salt, the Cajun seasoning, garlic powder and onion powder.
  • In your largest skillet* (cast iron or stainless preferred), heat the olive oil on medium high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 1 to 2 minutes per side until just opaque and cooked through, turning them with tongs. Once cooked through, serve immediately.

2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 lb shrimp, uncooked, peeled and deveined (medium sized)

Steps:

  • In a large nonstick pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add all spices and stir constantly for 30 seconds.
  • Add shrimp; saute for 2-3 minutes or until shrimp turns pink, stirring occasionally.

1 Tablespoons Cajun Seasoning

Steps:

  • In a medium-sized skillet over medium-high heat add the butter and melt. Add in the garlic.
  • Add in the shrimp and cajun seasoning and toss in the butter to coat.
  • Cook for 3-5 minutes or until shrimp is opaque and cooked throughout.

Need a quick week-nite meal? Some days we don't eat until 8pm! And, yes, this recipe uses the dreaded canned cream soup, but the flavor is delicious and slightly spicy (and I am a BUSY gal!). I serve this over rice and sometimes add a fresh steamed veggie such as broccoli to round out the meal - enjoy!

1 lb large shrimp, cooked,peeled & deveined
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon cajun seasoning
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 cup onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can campbell cream of chicken soup, with herbs
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon paprika

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine shrimp, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce and Cajun seasonings.
  • Toss to coat& set aside.
  • In a large skillet, saute onion& garlic in vegetable oil until tender.
  • Add soup, milk, and paprika, and bring to a boil.
  • Add seasoned shrimp and heat through.
  • Serve over rice or pasta.

  • In a bowl combine the shrimp, 2 tbsp olive oil, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 1/2 tsp smoked paprika, 1 tsp oregano, 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, 1/2 tsp lemon zest, 1/4 tsp black pepper, 1/4 tsp salt, and pinch of cayenne pepper. Stir the mixture to coat the shrimp evenly. Let the shrimp marinate for 30 minutes up to 6 hours.
  • In a large skillet over medium/high heat add 1 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp butter. Once the pan is hot add half the shrimp. Cook for 2 minutes on the first side, flip and cook for 2 minutes on the other side. Remove from the pan to a plate. Add the last half of the shrimp and repeat the cooking.
  • Off the heat add all the shrimp back to the pan. Squeeze two fresh lemon wedges over the shrimp and stir.
