Never buy jar sauce again! This is easy to prepare and freezes well. Keep a pint or two in the freezer and you will be prepared. Use this sauce whenever the recipe calls for spaghetti sauce. Recipe comes from Make a Mix Cookery.

2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans diced tomatoes, pureed
4 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
2 cups water
2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
2 tablespoons instant minced onion
2 tablespoons parsley flakes
3 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons cornstarch
4 teaspoons green pepper flakes
1 -2 teaspoon instant minced garlic
3 teaspoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons italian seasoning

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in large stockpot.
  • Simmer 15 minutes over medium-low heat; cool.
  • Pour into six 1-pint freezer containers, leaving 1/2 inch space at top.
  • Seal and label containers; freeze.
  • Use within 6 months.

1/4 cup olive oil
2 large garlic cloves
1 1/2-2 lbs plum tomatoes
salt & freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons parsley
1 pinch sugar (or a peeled carrot)
water, as needed

Steps:

  • In a large heavy saucepan, heat olive oil, then add the garlic cloves (whole so they add a "gentle" garlic flavor).
  • Add the tomatoes, salt and pepper. Cover and cook tomatoes until they're soft and collapsed (about 10 min.). If the skins bother you, then fish them out.
  • Uncover and cook, stirring often, until the mix is very smooth. Add water, if needed, to keep sauce from sticking to the pot. Stir in cream slowly, then add sugar (or carrot), if needed. (Taste it. The sweet carrot/sugar tempers the acidic tomatoes. You'll know if you need to add sugar if the sauce is really tart.).
  • Simmer the sauce a bit for the cream to become incorporated. Add water, if needed, to bring the sauce to desired consistency.

1/4 cup milk

Steps:

  • Measure all ingredients & combine.
  • Store in an air-tight container.
  • To use mix: - PER SERVING:.
  • Combine 1/4 C mix with 2 T melted butter (OR sour cream) & 1/4 C milk.
  • Whether to use butter or sour cream depends on the flavor you are after.

2 cups water
⅓ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon butter
¼ cup grated cheese
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper or to taste
scallions/green onion (green part only for garnishing (optional))

Steps:

  • Heat water in a pan or pot and bring the water to boiling hot.
  • Add ramen noodles and cook until al dente (tender).
  • Pour out water and add butter, garlic powder, ground black pepper, and grated cheese. Allow the cheese to melt slightly, then stir everything together until creamy.
  • Serve cheesy ramen hot garnishing with chopped scallions if adding.

2 quarts peanut oil
1 pound mozzarella
1/4 pound thinly sliced prosciutto
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
1/4 tablespoon onion powder
1/4 tablespoon paprika
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 egg
1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
1/4 pound Parmesan, finely shredded
1 cup sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon celery salt
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 pound blackberries

Steps:

  • Heat the peanut oil in a deep-fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 375 degrees F.
  • Cut the mozzarella into 1/2 by 1/2 by 2-inch strips and wrap them with prosciutto. Mix the flour, garlic powder, onion powder and paprika together in a bowl. Add the buttermilk and egg and whisk until combined. In a shallow bowl, combine the panko and finely shredded Parmesan.
  • Insert skewers into the mozzarella, dip them into the batter, then coat them with the panko mixture.
  • Deep-fry, in batches if necessary, until golden brown, approximately 2 minutes. Transfer the mozzarella to a serving platter.
  • Combine all of the dipping sauce ingredients, except the blackberries, in a medium bowl. Mash the blackberries through a metal strainer to remove the seeds.
  • Mix the blackberry juice into the dipping sauce and serve with the cheese sticks.

1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup dry sherry
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup dark corn syrup
1 (14 ounce) can beef broth
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • In a 1-qt bowl, mix together the cornstarch, garlic powder and ginger; add vinegar and sherry and stir until cornstarch mixture is dissolved; add soy sauce, corn syrup, broth and pepper and mix well.
  • Stir in enough water to make 4 cups total liquid.
  • Store in a jar with a tight-fitting lid; cover and refrigerate for up to 1 month.
  • Make sure you stir well before using in your stir-fry- you want the cornstarch fully incorporated in the sauce.

2 teaspoons grated romano cheese or 2 teaspoons parmesan cheese
1/3 cup dried onion flakes
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon white pepper

Steps:

  • Measure all ingredients into a large ziploc bag, seal and shake to combine.
  • To use, combine 1/4 cup Noodles Mix with 2 tablespoons butter and 1/4 cup milk in sauce pan (also add tuna at this point if desired);heat over medium heat until warm and butter is melted. Toss with pasta (approximately 3-4 cups cooked).
  • For variety, add 1/4 cup grated Cheddar cheese in place of the Parmesan cheese for a different taste.
