Categories     Dinner     Lunch

Time 23m

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 Large Onion
2 Garlic Cloves (, minced)
3 tablespoons Olive Oil
2 pounds Skinless Chicken Thighs (, bone in (900 grams))
1 teaspoon Salt
¼ teaspoon Black Pepper
2 tablespoons Sweet Paprika
1 Bay Leaf
1½ cup Chicken Stock
1 cup Heavy Cream
2 tablespoons Sour Cream
5 tablespoons Corn Starch
½ Lemon (or more to taste)

Steps:

  • Dice the onion and mince garlic.
  • Press "SAUTE" function on your Instant Pot. Pour 3 tablespoons of olive oil in the inner pot. Add the onion and garlic. Sauté this for a few minutes. Stir frequently to avoid burning the garlic. In about 3 minutes, add the chicken thighs. Cook them on both sides for a few minutes. All you need is to lock the juices inside.
  • Add salt, pepper and sweet paprika. Stir everything around with a wooden spoon so the thighs are coated with the seasoning.
  • Throw in bay leaf and pour in the chicken stock. Close and lock the lid, set the steam release to "SEALING" position. Press "MANUAL" and adjust the time to 5 minutes.
  • After the cycle is finished, wait for 10 minutes before releasing the pressure manually.
  • Press "SAUTE" and pour in heavy cream, sour cream and corn starch diluted in little water.
  • At last, squeeze in the juice of ½ lemon and taste. Add more seasoning or lemon juice, if needed.
  • Serve with dumplings, or pasta of your choice.

INSTANT POT® CHICKEN PAPRIKASH

Instant Pot® Chicken Paprikash image

This chicken paprikash can be made either in an Instant Pot® or on the stovetop. No matter which method you use, it will be cooked in less than 30 minutes! Feel free to use a blend of paprika--I used 3 different types: smoked paprika, sweet paprika, and regular paprika.

Time 1h10m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 (12 ounce) package egg noodles
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon minced parsley
1 ½ teaspoons salt, divided
1 teaspoon ground black pepper, divided
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 shallots, thinly sliced
6 cloves garlic, coarsely chopped
2 cups arrabbiata pasta sauce
¼ cup chicken broth
3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs
1 cup plain yogurt, divided
3 tablespoons paprika

  • Turn on a multi-functional pressure cooker (such as Instant Pot®) and select Saute function. Add oil, shallots, and garlic; saute until fragrant, 2 to 3 minutes. Pour in pasta sauce, chicken broth, and red wine vinegar.
  • Season chicken with remaining 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Add chicken to the pot. Close and lock the lid. Select high pressure according to manufacturer's instructions; set timer for 12 minutes. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for pressure to build.
  • Release pressure using the natural-release method according to manufacturer's instructions, about 10 minutes. Release remaining pressure carefully using the quick-release method.
  • Place 1/2 cup yogurt in a small bowl. Add in 1/2 cup of sauce, a tablespoon at time, to temper the yogurt. Add paprika and blend well. Pour yogurt mixture back into the pot. Shred the chicken thighs and serve over cooked noodles. Garnish each serving with a dollop of yogurt.

PRESSURE-COOKER CHICKEN PAPRIKA

Pressure-Cooker Chicken Paprika image

I truly appreciate the speed of the pressure cooker. We use it often to make these tender paprika chicken breasts with a sauce that gets its richness from sour cream. -Holly Ottum, Racine, Wisconsin

RICE COOKER CHICKEN PAPRIKASH

Rice Cooker Chicken Paprikash image

We love this recipe! After looking at a few other paprikash recipes I saw that a lot of them had peas in them. So I added about a cup of frozen peas to the recipe and it turned out great! I also skipped the step of browning the chicken and onion and just threw everything in and hit cook. I highly recommend it to those with a rice cooker.

CHICKEN CACCIATORE (PRESSURE COOKER)

Chicken Cacciatore (Pressure Cooker) image

Modified from "Pressure Perfect" by Lorna Sass. I got a pressure cooker last Christmas and until yesterday, it was still sitting in the box. I vowed to use it before this Christmas, and this was the first thing I made in it. I made a few substitutions based on what I had on hand, and I was so happy with the results. Serve with rice, pasta or potatoes.

Time 40m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 tablespoon olive oil
3 shallots, chopped
3 garlic cloves, chopped
1 medium green bell pepper, seeded and finely diced
1/2 cup white wine (not cooking wine)
10 ounces mushrooms, sliced
3 lbs bone-in skinless chicken breast halves or 3 lbs skinless chicken thighs
2 cups crushed tomatoes
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 (6 ounce) can pitted black olives or 1 (6 ounce) can kalamata olives, drained
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
1/8-1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese or 1/2 cup romano cheese
salt & freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a 4-quart or larger cooker. Add the shallots and bell pepper and cook over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until the shallots soften slightly, about 2 minutes.
  • Stir in the wine and boil until about half evaporates. Scrape up any browned bits sticking to the bottom of the cooker.
  • Stir in the mushrooms and garlic. Set the chicken on top. Cover the chicken with crushed tomatoes. Do not stir. Plop the tomato paste on top.
  • Lock the lid in place.
  • Over high heat bring to high pressure. Reduce the heat just enough to maintain high pressure and cook for 8 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat.
  • Allow the pressure to come down naturally. Remove the lid, tilting it away from you to allow steam to escape.
  • Stir in the olives, parsley, red pepper flakes, cheese, and salt and pepper, to taste.

PRESSURE COOKER HUNGARIAN CHICKEN

Pressure Cooker Hungarian Chicken image

I adapted this recipe from "The Pressure Cooker Gourmet", by Victoria Wise. You can substitute any kind of chicken pieces, bone-in or boneless. You would just need to adjust cooking time based on your choice. I actually leave the skin on, I'm weird and kind of like the skin, even when its "soggy"!

Provided by Mrs Goodall

Categories     Chicken Thigh & Leg

Time 1h

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3 1/2-4 lbs chicken leg quarters, bone-in and skinned
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 teaspoons hot paprika, preferably Hungarian
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 medium tomatoes, peeled and coarsely chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sour cream
6 ounces extra- wide egg noodles, cooked, drained and buttered

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in the pressure cooker over medium-high heat until beginning to smoke. Add the chicken pieces and cook until golden all around, 4 - 5 minutes. Transfer to a plate.
  • Add the onion, paprika, and broth and stir to mix. Return the chicken to the pot and add the tomato on top, but don't stir it. Add the salt.
  • Lock on the lid and bring to pressure over high heat, 4 - 5 minutes. Reduce the heat to medium and cook for 7 minutes. Remove from the heat and let sit for 5 minutes to finish cooking.
  • With steam vent pointed away from you face, gently release any remaining pressure and transfer the chicken to a plate. Set aside in a warm place while the liquid cooks in the pot for 15 minutes.
  • Whisk the sour cream in a small bowl until smooth. Add 1/4 cup of the liquid from the pot and whisk until smooth. Pour the sour cream mixture into the pot and whisk to mix. Return the chicken pieces and any juices to the pot. Reheat briefly without boiling.
  • Spread the warm egg noodles on a serving platter. Arrange the chicken over the noodles and pour the sauce over all.

PRESSURE COOKER CHICKEN PAPRIKASH RECIPE - (3.7/5)

Pressure Cooker Chicken Paprikash Recipe - (3.7/5) image

Provided by Foodiewife

Number Of Ingredients 16

1 to 2 tablespoons oil (I used olive oil, or vegetable is good)
4 to 6 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
1/2 onion, finely chopped
1 red bell pepper, seeded and cut into slices
1 clove garlic, minced
2 cups Cremini mushrooms, sliced (optional)
2 tablespoons Paprika*
1 (28-ounce) can whole tomatoes**
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 cup chicken stock
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup sour cream
Salt & pepper
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice (optional, but brightens the flavor)
1 package pappardelle or egg noodles cooked to the package directions.

Steps:

  • *I used imported Hungarian Paprika and reduced this to 1 1/2 tablespoons. Next time, I might reduce it to one tablespoon. Just know that paprika can be powerful, and the imported version packs a flavor punch! **Diced tomatoes would work fine. Pre-heat the pressure cooker using the BROWN/SAUTE setting. Add the oil, then a layer of chicken and season with salt and pepper. Sear the chicken pieces until lightly brown (I did this in two batches, so as not to crowd the chicken). Remove and set aside. Add the onion, bell pepper, mushrooms and garlic to the cooker and cook until tender (about 3 minutes), then add the paprika and tomato paste. NOTE: I buy tomato paste in a tube. If I use a partial can, I freeze it in 1 tablespoon measurements. No need to thaw, just pop it in!) Cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the flour and cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Add the chicken stock and tomatoes, stirring well, and scraping up any browned bits at the bottom of the pot. NOTE: I squeezed the tomatoes, over the pot, to break them down a bit. Return the chicken to the pressure cooker and any liquids. Lock the lid in place. Pressure cook on HIGH for six minutes. Meanwhile, cook the noodles, drain and keep warm. Reduce the pressure with a QUICK RELEASE and carefully remove the lid. Stir in the sour cream and stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Add the lemon juice, and stir. Most delicious served over noodles, though rice could work.

  • Turn on the saute function on your electric pressure cooker and adjust to the medium heat option. don't wait for the display to say 'hot' add oil right away. After about a minute add the chicken thighs skin side down a couple at a time and brown the skin, about 5 minutes per batch.
  • After all the chicken pieces have been browned add the onion and saute in the oil remaining in the bottom of the pot. you want the onion to become soft, not brown so you'll need to watch it and keep stirring them for about 5 minutes
  • Add canned chopped tomatoes, gluten free chicken stock, cayenne pepper, paprika, salt and pepper to the pot and stir well.
