This popcorn shrimp recipe is tender bites of shrimp coated in seasonings and deep fried to golden brown perfection. An easy appetizer option that's sure to be a hit with family and friends.

1 pound small shrimp (peeled and deveined)
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt (plus more for serving)
1/2 teaspoon paprika (smoked or regular)
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
vegetable oil for frying
2 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, salt, paprika, pepper and garlic power.
  • Pat the shrimp dry and place them in a large bowl. Add 1/4 cup of the flour mixture and toss to combine until the shrimp are all coated.
  • Heat 3-4 inches of oil in a large deep pot to 375 degrees F.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk.
  • Dip each shrimp into the milk mixture, then dredge in the remaining seasoned flour.
  • Place 8-10 pieces of shrimp in the oil. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Remove the shrimp from the oil and drain on paper towels. Repeat the process with the remaining shrimp.
  • Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

1 c. mayonnaise (add more if desired)
1/2 c. fresh onion
1 - 2 cloves of garlic
1 large hard-boiled egg
2 tbsp. dill pickle relish (or substitute diced dill pickles)
2 - 3 hoagie rolls or panini bread

Steps:

  • Prepare the shrimp according to package directions. Set aside to cool for 3 minutes.
  • Add mayonnaise, onion, garlic, hard boiled egg and pickle relish to a large bowl. Stir to incorporate ingredients.
  • Add warm shrimp to mayonnaise mixture and stir until shrimp are fully coated. Spoon onto hoagie rolls and serve.

1 quart vegetable oil for frying
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 egg
½ cup milk
1 cup dry bread crumbs
1 ¼ teaspoons salt
½ teaspoon dried basil
½ teaspoon dried parsley
⅛ teaspoon garlic powder
⅛ teaspoon onion powder
24 uncooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined

Steps:

  • Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Place flour in a bowl. Whisk egg and milk in another bowl. Combine bread crumbs, salt, basil, parsley, garlic powder, and onion powder in a third bowl.
  • Gently press shrimp into flour to coat and shake off excess. Dip into egg mixture and press into bread crumbs. Gently toss between your hands so any bread crumbs that haven't stuck can fall away. Place the breaded shrimp onto a plate while breading the rest; do not stack.
  • Deep fry breaded shrimp in preheated oil until golden brown, 3 to 4 minutes. Transfer shrimp to a paper towel-lined platter to drain.

1 head of romaine lettuce (washed and chopped)
15 oz black beans (1 can - rinsed and drained)
15.25 oz corn (1 can - drained)
3 large tomatoes (seeded and diced)
2 avocados (diced)
8 oz Mexican blend shredded cheese
12 oz tortilla chips (1 bag - broken up)
1 cup Catalina dressing
1/3 cup cocktail sauce

Steps:

  • Prepare popcorn shrimp according to package directions and toss with taco seasoning.
  • Layer lettuce, beans, corn, tomatoes, avocado, chips, cheese and shrimp in a large bowl.
  • I did the following: lettuce, chips, cheese, black beans,lettuce, chips, shrimp, corn, tomato, cheese, chips and then did a little design on the top. The layers are optional.
  • Combine Catalina and cocktail sauce in a small bowl and serve with the salad.

6 cups popped popcorn (3/4 cup uncooked popcorn makes about 6 cups popped)

Steps:

  • In large bowl, combine the mayo, celery, 1 cup of cheese, water chestnuts, 1/2 cup bacon, carrots and chives; mix well.
  • Add popcorn; stir to coat.
  • Spoon into a lettuce-lined bowl top with remaining cheese and bacon serve immediately.

2 tablespoons chopped cornichons, plus 2 tablespoons of the pickling liquid
2 teaspoons whole-grain mustard
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
1/2 lb medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 large egg
1 cup instant flour (such as Wondra, see Wondra® Instant Flour Substitute)
1 tablespoon cajun seasoning
kosher salt
vegetable oil, for frying
2 romaine lettuce hearts, torn into bite-size pieces
1 medium tomatoes, chopped
1 small red onion, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper, cut into strips
freshly ground pepper

Steps:

  • Make the dressing: Whisk the mayonnaise, cornichons and their liquid, mustard, hot sauce, and salt and pepper to taste in a bowl.
  • Prepare the salad: Halve the shrimp lengthwise. Whisk the egg and 2 tablespoons water in a medium bowl. In another bowl, whisk the flour, Cajun seasoning and 2 teaspoons salt.
