Our Test Kitchen staff set aside the porridge recipes and came up with these charming biscuits that are just right! The cute little bears, which get their personality from pizza toppings, are delicious with warm pizza sauce for dipping.

1 tube (16.3 ounces) large refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
12 slices pepperoni
12 slices ripe olives
1 tablespoon chopped green pepper
1 jar (2 ounces) sliced pimientos, drained
2 tablespoons shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1 can (8 ounces) pizza sauce, warmed

Steps:

  • Separate biscuits; place six biscuits 3 in. apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Cut each remaining biscuit into six pieces; roll each into balls. Attach two balls to each whole biscuit for ears; pinch dough to seal. , Decorate each bear with a pepperoni slice on each ear, olive slices for eyes, green pepper for nose, two pimiento strips for mouth and mozzarella cheese for furry forelock. Bake at 375° for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with pizza sauce.

1 cup Pizza Sauce
1.5 cup Mozzarella Cheese
8 oz Pepperoni Slices
3 Green Onion

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Lightly grease 9x13 baking dish.
  • Open biscuits and separate. Press biscuits into solid layer on bottom of pan. Seal edges so no spaces appear.
  • Spread pizza sauce over biscuit dough.
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over sauce.
  • Dice green onions,
  • Add pepperoni and green onions to top of pizza.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

2 (12 ounce) packages refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (or 3 - 7 oz. cans)
1 (15 ounce) can pizza sauce
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green pepper (optional)
1 (3 ounce) package pepperoni slices
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese or 2 cups pizza cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Cook meat over medium heat until no longer pink and drain.
  • Cut each biscuit into fourths and lay evenly in a greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish or 3 quart casserole dish (if I use 3 cans of the smaller biscuits, I only cut each biscuit in half).
  • Top biscuits with pizza sauce.
  • Sprinkle ground beef over the top.
  • Layer with onions, peppers, pepperoni slices and cheese.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until cheese is nicely melted.
  • Let stand about 10 minutes for easier serving.

2 cans flaky style biscuits
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary
1/4 teaspoon dried sage
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flake (or more to taste)
2 tablespoons butter (melted)
1 tablespoon garlic (minced)
6 ounces pepperoni slices
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and spray a loaf pan with nonstick spray. Set aside.
  • In a small bowl, combine oregano, marjoram, thyme, basil, rosemary, sage and red pepper flake. Stir to combine, then set aside.
  • In a small bowl, add melted butter and garlic, then stir to combine. Set aside.
  • On a clean work surface, split the dough of each biscuit in half and lay them all out side by side.
  • Stretch out each round of dough so that it will be almost as wide as the short side of the loaf pan itself (approximately 4-5").
  • Starting with one biscuit half, brush with a little of the garlic butter, add a few pepperoni slices (from the 6 ounce package I had, I could add three slices to each) and then top with a large pinch of cheese. Top with another biscuit, and repeat. You'll want to form stacks of 5 or 6 rounds at a time so they're still manageable enough for you to lift and place into the pan.
  • Starting at one side of the pan, layer each stack tightly side by side until you've filled the entire length of the pan.
  • Top with a light brush of garlic butter and your prepared spice mix.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 10 minutes or until the top is golden brown.Note: After the first 30 minutes, use a knife or fork to pull out one of the more central pieces to test how well the middle of the biscuits are cooked. If they feel like they're still too doughy for your liking, cover and bake in 5 minutes increments until it's what you're looking for, and then uncover and bake the remaining 10 minutes.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy! Can be served with a marinara dipping sauce, if desired.
