PEPPERMINT HOT COCOA GIFT JARS
Make these peppermint hot chocolate gift jars for a fun handmade Christmas gift in a jar idea!

Steps:
- Fill the jars 2/3 full with the hot cocoa mix.
- Add a layer of mini marshmallows. Leave enough space for the peppermint pieces at the top.
- Crush the candy canes (add candy canes to a small freezer bag, seal the bag, and then pound the bag with a rolling pin). Be careful not to crush the candy canes so much that they turn into a powder. You just want chunks of peppermint in the top of the jar.
- Add the peppermint chunks to the top of the jar and screw on the lid.
- Download the printable tags here: https://www.artfulhomemaking.com/peppermint-hot-cocoa-gift-jars/Cut out the tag, punch a hole in the top, and then be sure to add the directions for making the hot cocoa on the back of the tag. I just added the directions found on the back of the hot cocoa container.
- Tie the tag around the neck of the jar using the baker's twine.

- Layer ingredients in clean 1-1/2 cup jar with hinged lid.
- Seal jar, then attach preparation directions.
- To Prepare:
- Empty contents of jar into 1-qt. heatproof pitcher. Stir in 2-1/4 cups hot water or hot milk until mix is dissolved. Pour into 3 mugs and enjoy!
