Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 13x9x2" baking dish.
- Spread cherry pie filling over bottom of prepared baking dish. Sprinkle evenly with chocolate morsels and sugar. Spread dry cake mix over sugar, covering pie filling. Sprinkle evenly with chopped pecans. Place butter pats over cake mix, covering cake mix as evenly as possible. Bake 1 hour; let cool 30 minutes before serving. Serve with whipped cream if desired.

EASY CHOCOLATE CHERRY CAKE
Easy chocolate cherry cake is a moist and delicious chocolate cake filled with cherries and topped with chocolate ganache. A great cake for any occasion!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray 9x13 pan with non-stick cooking spray.
- Mix eggs, cake mix, oil, milk and almond extract.
- Fold cherry pie filling into the batter.
- Pour batter into greased baking pan.
- Bake 30-35 minutes.
- For Ganache: In a small saucepan bring sugar, evaporated milk and butter to a boil for one minute.
- Remove from heat and add chocolate chips and almond extract.
- Mix until smooth and pour over cake while cake and ganache are still warm.

EASY CHOCOLATE CHERRY CAKE
very easy, makes a nice bundt sized cake, tastes like you slaved over it all day! This works out better if it is all mixed by hand to keep the cherries whole. You can add a splash of cherry brandy if you like!

Steps:
- Mix cake mix with cocoa, beaten eggs, almond flavouring, melted chips and oil. Use a two cup glass measure to melt the chips and oil. Add cherry brandy if using. Fold in cherry pie filling. Turn into greased bundt pan.
- Bake 350 degrees for 55 minutes. The residue heat will finish the cooking. Cool, turn out onto a plate and glaze.
- Glaze:.
- 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- 2 tbsp butter.
- 2 tbsp table cream.
- Microwave on medium the chips, butter, and milk until melted . Stir in 1/2 cup icing sugar ( optional ) Cool and pour over cake. I use the same two cup Pyrex measuring cup to melt the chips & oil to put into the cake, and save it unwashed to make the glaze. No point in wasting a bit of chocolate! One time I made it, I used a bit more cherries ( almost 1/2 can more ) and it was the best one yet! After I glazed it and let it cool, I dribbled some of the cherry goo over the glaze to keep it moist- went over huge in my home!
- This cake is best made the day before to allow the flavours to get happy!

CHOCOLATE-CHERRY COLA CAKE
From Pillsbury Super Moist Cake Mix Recipes. Cola Cake is an old southern recipe. This updated recipe uses a cake mix and cherry cola.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 350 degrees (325 for dark or nonstick pan). Spray bottom of 13x9-inch pan with baking spray with flour. Chop cherries, set aside.
- In large bowl, beat cake mix, cola beverage, oil, eggs and 1/4 cup reserved liquid with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds. Beat on medium speed, beat 2 minutes.
- Stir in chopped cherries. Pour into pan.
- Bake 35 to 43 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
- In small bowl, mix frosting and marshmallow creme until smooth. Frost cake. Top each piece with 2 cherries.
- Note:.
- For chocolate-dipped cherries, melt 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips and 1 teaspoons shortening in microwave; stir. Dip well-drained cherries with stems into chocolate; refrigerate to set.

EASY CHERRY CAKE
In the 1950's, when cake mixes first came out, there was only chocolate, white or spice. To make something special, I came up with this.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Grease or Spray bottom of two 8 or 9 inch cake pans.
- *Drain juice from cherries and add water to make 1 1/4 cups.
- Chop cherries in half.
- Beat cake mix, cherry juice/water, oil, egg whites and cherries in large bowl on low speed 30 seconds; beat on medium speed 1 1/2 minutes
- Pour into pans.
- Bake 30- 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool 10 minutes in pans.
- Run knife around sides of pans before removing.
- Cool completely before frosting.
- A White Mountain icing is very good.
PAULA DEEN'S CHERRY CHEESE TRIFLE
This is a great summertime dessert. No cooking! This came from Paula Deen's magazine. It is very quick and easy to make and makes a splendid looking dessert. Sure to be a winner at your next cookout.

Steps:
- In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk.
- Beat with an electric mixer until smooth.
- Stir in 1/2 of whipped topping and almond extract; set aside.
- Tear angel food cake into 1 inch pieces.
- Place 1/3 of cake pieces in bottom of a trifle bowl.
- Spoon 1/3 of cream cheese filling over cake, and top with 1/3 of pie filling.
- Repeat layers twice more.
- Spread remaining whipped topping over top of trifle, sealing to edges.
- Garnish with additional pie filling and sliced almonds if desired.
