Our Test Kitchen home economists came up with this fancy-looking torte. The fluffy filling is encircled by store-bought ladyfingers and topped with canned mandarin oranges.

1 package (3 ounces) orange gelatin
2/3 cup boiling water
1/2 cup cold water
1 carton (16 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed, divided
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 package (3 ounces) ladyfingers, split
1 can (11 ounces) mandarin oranges, drained

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Stir in cold water. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes or until syrupy. , Fold in 3 cups whipped topping; set aside. In a small bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth; gradually beat in milk. Fold in remaining whipped topping., Grease the bottom of a 9-in. springform pan; sprinkle with cracker crumbs. Arrange ladyfingers around edge of pan. Set aside 1-1/2 cups of the orange mixture. Alternately spoon the cream cheese mixture and remaining orange mixture into pan. Spread reserved orange mixture over top. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until set. , Remove sides of pan. Garnish with mandarin oranges.

This is one of my favourite Pampered Chef recipes!!!

CAKE
1 box 9 oz yellow cake mix
1 large egg
1/2 c sour cream
1/2 c melted orange sherbert
FILLING AND TOPPING
1 large orange
4 oz cream cheese, softened
2 Tbsp melted orange sherbert
8 oz whipped topping, thawed, divided
11 oz mandarin oranges in juice, drained

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Spray one Torte Pan with nonstick cooking spray. Place an 8-in. (20-cm) circle of Parchment Paper over center of pan. In Classic Batter Bowl, combine cake mix, sour cream, sherbet and egg; whisk 1 minute or until smooth. Pour batter into prepared pan, spreading to edges. Bake 12-15 minutes or until center feels firm to the touch. Remove pan from oven to Stackable Cooling Rack; let stand 10 minutes. Invert cake onto Cake Pedestal; remove parchment and cool completely.
  • 2. Meanwhile, zest orange using Microplane® Adjustable Grater to measure 1 tbsp (15 mL). Combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, sherbet and zest in Stainless (2-qt./2-L) Mixing Bowl; whisk until smooth. Reserve 3/4 cup (175 mL) of the whipped topping for garnish. Fold remaining whipped topping into cream cheese mixture.
  • 3. Spread filling into well of cake. Refrigerate 1 hour or until ready to serve. Garnish with reserved whipped topping and mandarin orange segments just before serving.

It's guaranteed to be the favorite dessert at any potluck, and we recommend making it in a glass baking dish so everyone can see the pretty layers in its presentation.

1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ sugar cookie mix
Butter and egg called for on cookie mix pouch for drop cookies
1/3 cup butter, melted
2 boxes (3 oz each) Jell-O® orange-flavored gelatin
1/3 cup boiling water
2 boxes (3.4 oz each) Jell-O® vanilla-flavor instant pudding & pie filling mix
2 1/2 cups cold milk
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 container (12 oz) Cool Whip frozen whipped topping, thawed
1/2 cup canned mandarin orange segments, drained

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F. Make and bake drop cookies as directed on pouch. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
  • In food processor, process half of the cookies to coarse crumbs. Remove to medium bowl. Continue to process remaining cookies to coarse crumbs; add to bowl. Stir in melted butter until well blended. In ungreased 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish, press cookie crumb mixture firmly in bottom. Set aside.
  • In small bowl, place gelatin, and add boiling water; beat with whisk until blended. Stir occasionally about 2 minutes or until mostly dissolved. In medium bowl, beat dry pudding mixes and milk with whisk about 2 minutes or until thick. Stir in dissolved gelatin. Let stand 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • In large bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth, scraping down side of bowl frequently. Beat in 2 cups of the whipped topping. Spread over cookie crust.
  • Pour pudding mixture over cream cheese layer; spread evenly over top. Drop remaining whipped topping by spoonfuls over pudding layer; carefully spread until even. Refrigerate 5 hours.
  • When ready to serve, sprinkle orange segments on top. Cut into 6 rows by 3 rows. Cover and refrigerate any remaining pieces.

2/3 cup butter, softened
1-1/3 cups sugar
2/3 cup orange juice
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon grated orange zest
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
2 large eggs
2 cups cake flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
FROSTING:
1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons orange juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
4 teaspoons grated orange zest, divided
1 cup heavy whipping cream, whipped

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in juices and zest until well blended (mixture may appear curdled). Combine the flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually add to creamed mixture until well blended. , Pour into two greased and floured 9-in. round baking pans. Bake at 375° for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks to cool completely. , For frosting, in a small bowl, combine the coconut, sugar, juices and 3 teaspoons zest. Let stand for 10-15 minutes or until sugar is dissolved. Fold in whipped cream. Spread between cake layers and over the top. Sprinkle with remaining orange zest. Chill for at least 1 hour. Store in the refrigerator.

A creamy blend of orange juice and frozen yogurt thickened with unflavored gelatine is chilled in a pan lined with ladyfingers for a luscious dessert.

2 env. KNOX Unflavored Gelatine
1/4 cup sugar
1-1/2 cups cold water
1 can (6 oz.) frozen orange juice concentrate
1 pt. frozen vanilla nonfat yogurt
1 tsp. grated orange zest
1 pkg. (3 oz.) ladyfingers, split
6 canned mandarin oranges
1 oz. BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, melted

Steps:

  • Combine gelatine and sugar in medium saucepan. Gradually add water, stirring until well blended. Let stand 1 min. Cook on low heat 5 min. or until gelatine is completely dissolved, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Add orange juice concentrate, frozen yogurt and orange zest; stir until well blended. Refrigerate until mixture mounds slightly, stirring occasionally. Set aside.
  • Cut ladyfingers in half crosswise. Stand 23 halves, cut-ends down, around side of 9-inch springform pan. Line bottom of pan with remaining ladyfinger halves. Spoon thickened gelatine mixture into prepared pan. Refrigerate 3 hours or until gelatine mixture is firm. Meanwhile,dip orange segments halfway into melted chocolate; place on small plate. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  • Loosen and remove rim of pan. Arrange oranges on top of torte. Cut into 8 wedges to serve. Store leftover torte in refrigerator.

If you love the taste of orange cream popsicles you'll love this cake. I made this for a cookout in the summer and there was no leftovers to go back home.

1 (18 1/4 ounce) box orange cake mix
1 (3 ounce) box orange Jell-O
1 cup boiling water
1 (3 1/2 ounce) box instant vanilla pudding
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon orange extract
1 (8 ounce) container Cool Whip

Steps:

  • Set out Cool Whip to thaw.
  • Prepare cake mix according to directions for a 9x13 pan,.
  • After the cake is done and you bring out of oven, poke holes throughout the cake with a fork.
  • Prepare Orange jello with 1 cup of boiling water and pour over the cake.
  • Allow to cool in pan for 30 minutes.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix together with hand mixer (or other) instant vanilla pudding with 1 cup milk.
  • Stir in orange and vanilla extracts, mix well.
  • Fold in Cool whip Spread over the cake and chill for 2 to 3 hours before serving.
