1/2 cup butter, melted
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1 can (2.8 ounces) French-fried onions, crushed
4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (4 ounces each)

Steps:

  • In a shallow bowl, combine butter, Worcestershire sauce and mustard. Place onions in another shallow bowl. Dip chicken in butter mixture, then coat with onions. , Place in a greased 11x7-in. baking dish; drizzle with remaining butter mixture. Bake, uncovered, at 400° for 20-25 minutes or until a thermometer reads 165°.

This is a wonderful chicken recipe. The chicken falls apart into the sauce once plated. Excellent with rice even better with my homemade rice pilaf. I have posted this recipe as well under Elaine's Rice Pilaf.

1 large Spanish onion
4 chicken breasts
6 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup olive oil
3 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 cups chicken stock
1/2 teaspoon salt
fresh ground pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground thyme

Steps:

  • Peel and slice onion; set aside.
  • Split whole chicken breasts.
  • Combine 6 TBS of flour, 1 1/2 TSP salt and 1/4 TSP pepper in plastic bag. Add chicken a couple of pieces at a time and shake to coat.
  • Heat oil in an oven proof skillet. Add chicken and brown on both sides. Remove chicken and set aside.
  • Brown onion slices in same pan until golden. Add 3 TBS flour and stir to coat. Add chicken stock and cook until thickened. Add remaining remaining salt, pepper and thyme. Return chicken to the skillet and spoon gravy over.
  • Bake at 350°F for 1 1/4 hours.

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
1 (6 ounce) can cheddar French-fried onions or 1 (6 ounce) can original French-fried onions, crushed

Steps:

  • In a shallow bowl, combine the butter, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic salt and pepper.
  • Dip chicken in the butter mixture, then coat with onions.
  • Place in a greased 9-inch square baking pan.
  • Top with any remaining onions; drizzle with any remaining butter mixture.
  • Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until chicken juices run clear.

Can it get any easier? This chicken is so tender and moist! From a French's ad in Family Circle Magazine. Makes a tasty meal when there is little time to cook. Also would make a good sandwich. ***NOTES*** 3/1/2009, I just saw this recipe printed in a new magazine and they now have you add one tablespoon of flour to the crushed French Fried onions. It helps the pieces adhere to the chicken better. 10/19/2010, one of the reviewers offered a new tip: substitute a flavored mustard for the egg if you enjoy the tanginess of mustard. Great idea!

1 cup fresh breadcrumb (I've used Progesso Italian)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1 1/2 cups of melted margarine
4 whole chicken breasts (8 halves)
1 1/2 cups onions, chopped into eighths
2 tablespoons melted butter
2 tablespoons flour
16 ounces sour cream
pepper
4 tablespoons chopped green onions

Steps:

  • Combine all coating ingredients (except butter.
  • Dip chicken into melted butter.
  • Coat chicken with crumb mixture.
  • Reserve remaining crumbs.
  • Put chicken in 9 X 13 pans.
  • Put onions on top of chicken and around pan.
  • Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture over onions.
  • Drizzle w/remaining butter.
  • Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until chicken is cooked thoroughly.
  • To make sauce:.
  • Melt butter in pan.
  • Stir in flour (stir for a little bit).
  • add sour cream, green onion and pepper and stir for one or two more minutes.
  • If sauce is too thick, add a little milk.
  • Pour over cooked chicken and save some for mashed potatos!
  • Enjoy!

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 (6 ounce) can French-fried onions
1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
3/4 cup parmesan cheese
3 -4 tablespoons melted butter or 3 -4 tablespoons margarine

Steps:

  • spray the bottom of a 9 by 13 inch pan.
  • whisk together milk and eggs in a bowl big enough to dip chicken into.
  • dip chicken in eggs, set side by side in baking pan.
  • in a small bowl crush the onions.
  • mix in the bread crumbs and parmesan cheese pour over chicken.
  • Drizzle melted butter or margarine over chicken.
  • bake at 350 degrees until chicken is done about 45 minutes.
  • ****Note**** If CHICKEN IS TOO THICK, I POUND IT AND SOMETIMES CUT IT IN HALF.

This recipe has everything you're looking for--quick, easy and "Oh So Juicy". This submitted to TOH's "Quick Cooking" by Jennifer Hoeft of Texas. Submitted to "ZAAR" by me on December 27th 2007.

1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
2 ounces French-fried onions, crushed

  • Preheat oven to 400ºF.
  • In a shallow bowl,combine well the first three ingredients.
  • In another shallow bowl,put crushed french-fried onions.
  • Dip chicken into wet ingredients,coating both sides.
  • Then coat each side with onions.
  • Place in a lightly greased two quart baking dish,if there are any onions leftover just sprinkle over the top of the chicken.

  • In large plastic bag or bowl, combine Knorr® French Onion recipe mix and bread crumbs; set aside.
  • Brush chicken on all sides with mayonnaise.
  • Add chicken, one piece at a time, to plastic bag/bowl.
  • Close bag and shake, or toss in bowl, until chicken is evenly coated.
