Provided by Jordan

Categories     Main Course

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 pound jumbo shrimp, (peeled & deveined)
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons lemon zest
3 garlic cloves, (minced)
1/4 cup yellow onion (chopped)
2 tablespoons white wine
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
3 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup milk
1 pound thin spaghetti
4 tablespoons fresh parsley, (chopped)
1/2 tbs red pepper flakes
salt & pepper to taste
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Place peeled & deveined shrimp in a medium sized bowl with 1 tbsp olive oil and lemon zest.
  • Heat olive oil in a large sauté pan over medium high heat. Add the garlic, onion, and white wine. Cook, stirring frequently, for 1-2 minutes until onions are translucent.
  • Stir in butter, chicken broth, and milk. Mix until the butter has melted. Bring to a boil, then add the spaghetti, tossing gently to coat in the broth mixture. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover and cook for about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally to make sure the noodles aren't sticking, until spaghetti just starts to get soft.
  • Add the shrimp, parsley, and red pepper flakes, toss to coat, cover and cook an additional 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp are fully cooked and the spaghetti is al dente.
  • Mix in the parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper. If the mixture is too thick, add more broth until desired consistency is reached. To serve, divide between bowls and garnish with more parsley if desired.

Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 12

12 oz dry spaghetti (Use a gluten-free pasta to make this GF , or zoodles to make it KETO.)
1 lb large shrimp , pat dry (deveined, shelled, and tail preferrably off)
2 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tsp salt
1/2 tso ground black pepper
3 tbsp olive oil (divided)
4 garlic cloves (minced)
2 cups baby spinach
1/2 cup white wine (replace with chicekn broth if desired)
2 tbsp parsley (chopped)
6 grape tomatoes, halved (OPTIONAL)
2 tbsp grated Parrmesan cheese (OPTIONAL)

Steps:

  • Cook pasta: Bring a large pot/pan with water, salt, and 1 tbsp of oil to a boil, add spaghetti, and cook until al dente, about 10 minutes. Make sure to stir every once and a while so the pasta won't stick. Drain and set aside.
  • Cook garlic and shrimp: Using the same pan or pot, heat over medium heat, add 2 tbsp of oil and cook garlic for about 40 seconds, stirring every now and then. Do not let it brown! Season shrimp with paprika, salt, and pepper, add to the pot/pan, and let cook for about 2 minutes. Then add spinach and wine and cook for 2 minutes or until shrimp turns opaque and most of the wine is absorbed. Stir at least once.
  • Combine with pasta: Turn off the heat and add the cooked pasta, mixing well. Top with parsley, tomatoes, and Parm cheese. Serve and enjoy!

Time 30m

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 lb medium shrimp, deveined and tails removed
1 lb spaghetti noodles (more or less, depending on family size)
6 -8 garlic cloves, according to personal taste, minced
1/4 cup butter
olive oil (3 drizzles)
italian seasoning
fresh ground pepper
red pepper flakes
salt
herbs (according to taste)

Steps:

  • Boil pasta in water till tender, save 1 cup of pasta water for use later. I always put some oil, salt, and fresh herbs in with my pasta when I boil it. Drain and set aside when done.
  • While pasta is boiling, wash shrimp.
  • Melt butter over medium heat. Add shrimp.
  • Let cook till a little pink and starting to curl. Then add garlic.
  • Cook 5-7 min., add oil. Continue to stir till shrimp is pink and curled.
  • Add pasta to skillet. Add seasonings. Add just enough saved pasta water till it is not dry but not swimming in liquid either. Depending on amount of pasta this requires 1/2 the cup or all of it. Start with adding 1/4 of it then work up from there.
  • Keep tossing all ingredients around in skillet till all is incorporated and hot. Enjoy!

Here's what you need: spaghetti, olive oil, shrimp, salt, red pepper flakes, small yellow onion, garlic, canned diced tomato, sugar, dried oregano, dry white wine, fresh parsley, water

Provided by Scott Loitsch

Categories     Dinner

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 lb spaghetti
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 teaspoons salt
1 ½ teaspoons red pepper flakes
1 small yellow onion
8 cloves garlic, finely chopped, about 3 tablespoons
42 oz canned diced tomato, drained of excess water
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 cup dry white wine
⅓ cup fresh parsley, chopped
4 qt water, salted

Steps:

  • In a 6-quart Dutch oven, bring 4 quarts of salted water to a boil over medium-high heat.
  • Add spaghetti, cooking about 6-7 minutes until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Return the Dutch oven to the stovetop and heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the shrimp, salt, and ½ teaspoon of the red pepper flakes. Spread evenly across the bottom of the pot and cook until the bottoms pink and slightly brown, about 45-60 seconds. Flip and repeat until shrimp are just cooked through.
  • Remove the shrimp and place in a small bowl to the side.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low, and add additional 1 tablespoon of oil to the pot, as needed.
  • Add onion and garlic to the oil and cook until onions have softened, about 3-5 minutes. Stir frequently to ensure the garlic does not burn.
  • Add the diced tomatoes, remaining 1 teaspoon of salt, sugar, remaining 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes, oregano, and white wine.
  • Stir and bring the sauce up to a simmer. Simmer for 5-10 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
  • Return the shrimp (and any accumulated juices) to the sauce. Add the parsley, stirring to incorporate.
  • Add the cooked spaghetti back into the pot, toss until evenly coated and heated, then remove from heat. Serve immediately.
  • Enjoy!

GARLIC SHRIMP SPAGHETTI

Garlic Shrimp Spaghetti image

This is always a hit if I have dinner guests who like shrimp. It's simple, but with a wonderful taste -- another great recipe from Canadian Living. I typically serve it with fresh bread, small steaks, salad, and I'll do roast potatoes if I have a guest who I know doesn't like seafood. Note: if you don't have the steaks, expect this to only serve 4; it's that good.

Categories     Spaghetti

Time 45m

Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup extra virgin olive oil
14 garlic cloves, peeled and minced
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon hot pepper flakes
2 lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 (750 g) package spaghetti (about 1-1/2 lbs)
2/3 cup chopped fresh flat leaf parsley

Steps:

  • Because this recipe is simple, it all depends on quality; don't skimp on any of the ingredients-- use good quality extra-virgin olive oil, fresh shrimp, fresh parsley, etc.
  • And, yes, you read it right-- 14 cloves of garlic.
  • Also note that you're not going to actually consume all that olive oil, a lot of it will pool into the bottom of the serving bowl-- of course, if you want to sop that lovely garlicky oil up with fresh bread, who am I to stop you!
  • First, have everything ready-- shrimp peeled, parsley and garlic chopped, etc.
  • Next, put a LARGE pot of water on, add about 2 tbsp salt to it, and get it on the heat to boil.
  • Meanwhile, in a skillet, heat oil over low heat and cook the garlic, salt and pepper flakes, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes or until the garlic is golden, but NOT browned.
  • Increase the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp; stirfry for about 3 minutes or until the shrimp have turned a light pink; don't overcook or the shrimp will be tough.
  • Meanwhile, your spaghetti should be cooked al dente; drain it well then return to the pot.
  • Pour the shrimp mixture over the cooked spaghetti, add the chopped parsley, and toss well.
  • Serve immediately in a large, pre-warmed, shallow serving bowl.
